I would flush the trans if you haven't already. Also, replace the o2 sensors and/or fuel filter. Any check engine light? Cold weather also has effect on mpg. Do you know what kind of mpg's you are getting?

I would say the mpgs is a side effect rather then the actual problem...well obvious I guess but whatever, its late.
Go to an auto zone or whatver and check for a cel code, it sounds vaguely like a misfire or sluggish motor from ignition problems. Search the forums for those couple things and it should give you some suggestions as to what to do.

But instinct is saying plugs and wires to start with.

And first thing post up some more backup info on your truck, recent maintenance, any maint you've had done on it...it'll help people more knowledgeable then me give you some better info.
Sorry for the crap response.

Well yeah the cel is on and I was actually going to run down to autozone tomorrow and see what type of codes I'm getting, also as far as maintenance goes, I've had my runner for around 1year and changed the plugs and wires, air filter and rear shocks about 8 months ago and do regular oil changes every 3 months, besides that not much else going on

I'm also not sure as to what my exact mpg ratting is but I know it's pretty low seeing as how I haven't traveled much and had to put in 2full tanks so far this week

Based on your location, I'm hoping your 4Runner wasn't flooded during Hurricane Sandy. Flooding a vehicle can cause all sorts of problems.

Thanks for caring man, but no luckily no flood but unfortunately a tree fell on her :( had to take her to the shop to fix up the whole center body, windshield, hood, roof, etc. but she's all fine now

Clean MAF, clean throttle body, change front O2/AF sensor if over 80k on it, and see if that helps. Also check your PCV valve and change if it does not rattle freely.

Consider a SeaFoam treatment, or at least a bottle of Techron.

Yeah I'm definitely getting the code later today

My MPG dropped suddenly, and no CEL codes.

How many mines you have in the truck? If it is above 120 K miles, get a new DENSO AIR-FUEL ratio sensor. $45 free shipping on ebay and will do miracles! I experienced that.
