It's a sad day

I was wondering what you guys think. I have a 2007 SR5 4x4 Silver with gray leather. We have decided to sell but am wondering if I should try to only sell local or post it over the internet and have to deal with that many more "tire kickers" over the web. What's the demand like for this year model? It's been a soccer mom mobile for most of it's life. I recently took it over when she got a new highlander. I don't even know where to start as far as real world asking price.

It has a V6 with 130,000 miles. Pretty much stock. Tinted windows. Has back window up with fob hack. Button to open back door from inside when camping. Wired for dual battery and inverter. Extra charging outlets.

Are you posting it or not??!? quit teasing. I have a buddy looking for a 4th gen currently so I'll await the for sale thread.

What "sale thread"? Didn't know there was a "sale thread". I was basically asking for help on what it was worth. Was gonna sit it out next to the road here at home and possibly put it on ebay or something. NADA says $13500 but an old man told me once that "What that book says is not necessarily what it's worth. Could be less or could me more."

Edit: Are you saying I have to create a sale thread myself? Or is there a special sale section to this forum? I haven't seen it if there is.

Yes, there's a for sale sticky. On the home page, click on 4th gen, then I think it's 9 stickies down.

FWIW, unless things have radically changed, that truck wouldn't last 5 minutes for sale in metro Atlanta. We ended up buying one in Greenville, SC, having resorted - after a year of looking around Atlanta - to calling Toyota dealers in the towns along the way home from our Outer Banks vacation. I asked a sales guy at an Atlanta Toyota dealer and he said, "When we get a 4x4 4Runner trade, somebody driving by stops and buys it before we can even take pictures for the listing."

And btw, your truck is not silver, it's Titanium Metallic. ;-)

For what it's worth I bought my rig over this past summer. 07 V8 AWD, 165K mileage. Picked it up from a dealer for $10k flat. Everything works perfectly fine but it had a few issues of repairs that will need to be made and has some rust underneath (not on the frame though). I think I could have gotten it for lower, but I was under a time crunch and tired of looking for a 4Runner.

I'd say without a doubt to put it up on the internet like craigslist and Autotrader. Selling it yourself is definitely where you'd be able to make more money by stating the extra goodies you have mentioned (wish I had a rear window up hack). Price it to negotiate too, so I'd at least start your asking price around $15k and depending on the condition, you very well could get that.

Its all about finding the right buyer... going private party, i've seen some 4x4 Toyota trucks sell for a pretty premium.

If you want the max out of it, go that route.

If you want to sell it for dealer trade in prices, give me a call because ill buy it haha.

BTW, Highlander as a 4Runner replacement would indeed be a sad day for me.

This is the info I was looking for. I appreciate it. I guess I will try to post it in the for sale section sometime soon. I took a few pics today but it needs a bath and wiped down. Wish I lived in Atlanta. :) 4Runners don't seem very popular around here. At least you don't see many.

Well guys I posted it for sale in the sub forum as I think someone called it. Couldn’t figure out the picture thing. I will send pics through email if someone happens to be interested. If you know someone that needs a good truck let them know. Thanks for your help.
