Super White with 3rd Row
The 3rd Row prevented me form getting the Trail I wanted, as this was the mandate from the wife. If I wanted a 4Runner build, I also had to sell my 2011 FJ. Time to start the 4Runner build!

My 2011 FJ:

Finding a Blizzard White in an SR5-P with 3rd row was a challenge. Only 2 matching vehicles were in CA and Nevada. Thankfully, my local Toyota dealership's GM (and owners nephew) is a friend of mine, and took the time to secure the trade. Took 5 days for them to get it due to the other dealer not wanting to let it go.

Definitely one of my favorite builds on T4R. I love the black on white you've got going on.

Just curious if you have any plans for front or rear bumpers? Maybe the southern style speed hybrid in front so you can keep your grille and garnish?

And my in-laws are in Clovis so next time I'm in town I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your rig!

Thank you! Yes, I am considering a rear swing-out bumper, and for the front, probably a hidden winch one as I don't want to get rid of the PRO garnish quite yet!

Received the snorkel, well packaged, and fast!
Fiberglass Snorkel- Wasn't fond of the fact that it was fiberglass, but willing to take the chance! Well made, and seemed to look as if it would fit well. Not fond of the Snorkel Intake Head. Have a universal, more Safari looking one coming today.

Decided the glossy look of the fiberglass painted was not going to fit my 4Runner look. I painted it the Dupli-color Bumper Trim Flat Black that I have been using for years on my FJ and 4Runner. It will match the rest of the trim perfectly AND when I paint my Fender Trim, it will be a perfect match!

NOTE:
As seen in the below picture, I made my own headless anchor bolts. I simply went to Lowes, obtained the M8 x 1.25 in an 1 1/2" length and cut them carefully with the Dremel, and verify threads before mounting to the Snorkel. I then used loctite-red and used the supplied washer that came with the kit, and added the appropriate lock washer and nut. Made it MUCH easier for placement and install. I would have fought this trying to find the hole through the fender blindly. It also helped to make sure the Snorkel was placed correctly AND that all holes lined up:

Begin the Drilling. I forgot to get a picture of the template laid on fender. It is a tricky template as you simply line it to the top of the Fender trim, and hope for correct placement. Once I felt lucky, I center punched the holes:

Drilled smaller pilot holes before using the Step Bit to achieve a 9/16" hole:

9/16"

At this point, I removed some of the fender liner bolts and peeled down the fender liner to gain access to the inner fender. Only needed to remove the top 3, and one on the upper side towards the passenger compartment. This made it easy to get my arm up.

Removal of airbox should be done as well:

Time to cut a 3 7/8" hole. Rather than buy a new hole saw, I reused the 4 1/8" that I had from installing a snorkel on my FJ. Seemed like it wouldn't make a big difference, as a 4" hole was also suggested from Pathfinder.
NOTE:
It is best to drill using the upper fender angle first, as there is more fender to cut. If you use the lower, more straight up and down angle, it will be much harder to cut when you hit the upper part of the fender. You can see what I mean in pics below.

How long was the wait time on the snorkel?

It takes 5 min. OEM unscrews, TRD screws right back on.

How long was the wait time on the snorkel?

It came in about 6 days including shipping. Pathfinder happened to have it in stock when I was speaking with them. Otherwise they try to order it when they have multiple orders, as it is costly to get it from them. Think it is expensive? It IS, however, I can tell you this: Pathfinder does NOT make much at all on this. Between the free shipping of the huge box, and the fact that it is VERY costly to bring in, they are doing us more of a favor by sourcing something that isn't really available to us. I know others say wait for Safari, but if you have the need to complete your build with this snorkel, we all know that some things aren't worth the wait. So far I have no complaints. Painting it the bumper trim Duplicolor really helps keep the same look as all the other trim. I have not however seen gas mileage increase, but I wasn't expecting that.

Thank you for the thread, your thread has been one of the ones to talk me off the edge of spending the cash on the pricey rig in the 4runner fleet. The documentation of the build has many of the aspects of what I want to do.

Curious why the added hood with scoop? Just for looks? If I remember right its non functional hood scoop.

Also wondering if with the 285s and the 1.25" spidertraxx spacers do you rub al lot? Im looking to do a similar setup with toytec lift + UCA's

Hood scoop purely for looks and to set the front off to a more aggressive look!

I only rubbed on front fender liners with the 285's and spidertaxx, and BARELY touched the body mount. For sake of issues, I chopped the body mount, and moved the front liners up about 2". There are many threads on moving wheel liner up to allow for no rubbing.

Can you tell if the front pump on the trans is struggling? Can you give me some pictures of the install? And did you do it inline with the radiator? Thanks in advance.

The transmission cooler has been a tremendous help pulling the trailer. Some pics are earlier in the build thread, and it is definitely keeping the tranny cooler than without.

Finally got a good wash after much rain and snow. Returning to work, thought I would detour. Here are some very quick and dirty results:

Awesome build!! Seeing yours convinced me to purchase my Super White '16 TEP. I just did the 3' OME lift, Icon UCA's with the TRD Pro wheels with Spidertrax spacers with 285/70/17 Duratracs... Mine seems to rub on the front bumper inside lower edge in reverse. Did you have to do any trimming to the actual bumper? The shop who installed my lift stated the alignment is in factory spec. I know the BMC is necessary and will be done next week. Just trying to avoid trimming the actual front bumper if I don't need to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Is that the stock tow hitch? On my '16 the spare tire is right behind the reciever. Not leaving much room to insert the load dist. Hitch..

Where did you mount your brake controller?
