Nice shots as always!

I do have to ask, whats your advice to solo camping. It's nice for a day or so but I felt like I needed to have a plan with activities in order not to internalize too much!! lol

I've been getting a lot of private messages about how I plan/execute trips. When it comes to solo camping trips, most of them (like the one pictured above) is what people call "fast packing". You're basically running with a small (25-30L) pack that weighs on average 10-15 lbs. The pictures above were from last weekend. I started Saturday afternoon around 6pm, ran until 1130pm, stopped and camped, woke up, and ran more. I covered about 28 miles overall. My free time is spent running, sleeping, and eating. I like to move and get uncomfortable when I stop, so I just keep going. I tend to see a lot, but I don't spend a lot of time in one place.

When the GF is involved I tend to slow down, but I carry running gear so I can get some extra miles in when we find a place to camp.

As far as "internalizing"....people should probably do it more often in my opinion. It's ALWAYS nice to just sit in the middle of nowhere, hear nothing and say nothing. It's moments like this where there's some sort of clarity in the world. :ybrick:

Interestingly enough, I never had so much appreciation for societies and modern technologies until I sat and thought for 3 days lol.

I always wanted to live in a mountain in the middle of no where, not so much after that trip. Coffee shops, crowds, deadlines, work and responsibilities never meant so much before!

Anyways - thanks for sharing!!

It's cool having friends everywhere! I knocked out a 10 mile trail run in Colorado in the morning, hopped on a plane, landed in Austin, TX, and got directly on the the mountain bikes and rode for a couple hours. :guitar2:

You should try camping in the snow, talk about appreciating a warm bed afterwards. My wife wonders why I sleep so well at home. Other than coffee, you can keep the rest though!

Thanks for more inspiring pics Jake, took the long way home from summit today to avoid traffic and for the adventure, funny how sitting on an interstate in traffic raises the blood pressure, but taking an extra 2 hour trip around the mess with some off-roading relaxes you!

All I was doing was trying to get to the trail head. These were taken around 12,500 ft.

Notice there aren't any people around in any of these pics....

That's a win in my book!

That is a great feat this summer, the mountains feel more crowded than ever. I'm going further and further to escape each year, well and to see new places as well. Great pics as always...
