Mind sharing where you sourced those clips?

They're called "Quick FIST Clamps". I found them at 4 wheel parts in Houston. They work fairly well so far. The only thing I added was a large diameter washer to give the clamp a little more stability. I spend most of the time cruising down the beach or dirt roads, so vibrations are my enemy! Like I said before, they seem to be very stable and secure, but like all things, time will tell!

When I saw the pic of that cutie pup and blurted out "AWWWWW!", my Beagles ran over to see what was up. Now they're pissed.

Charlie cocked his leg on my shoes, Eddie chewed up the carpet, and Floyd knocked over the trash and ate everything (although that's normal behavior for him, but whatever).

Way to go.

The lights on the back are a set of fairly cheap knockoffs from superbrightleds.com so they're not that great. I would consider them built fairly well, considering how much I use them and the type of weather they have seen. I've listed the positives and negatives below:

Positives:
When the hatch is down and you need lighting, you have it.
When they're angled 20-30 meters from the vehicle the lights are effective when backing up and viewing from the backup camera.
If they're floods and you're attempting to maneuver through a tight spot, the lights can be angles so they project to the sides of the vehicle.
Negatives:
They're tall (the ones I have are in a huge housing) so they stick up like a sore thumb.
If they're projected downward they can washout the backup camera rendering it useless.
When the hatch is open they're useless.
I rarely do anything directly behind the vehicle. It's usually from the sides.
From they're location you can only angle them so far before the hatch blocks the light.

I've actually been thinking about getting rid of them. I've found that the rigid dual SRMs I've mounted on all four corners of the Baja rack are far more practical. I LOVE THOSE LIGHT! Don't get me wrong there have been several occasions where I was happy I had the lights, but in the end I could most likely do without them. I mounted them to help me with packing or getting everything setup for travel but I've yet to do that.

I thought I would throw my 2 cents in here as well. I can't speak for the lights that Jacob has but I have 2 6" sr floods on the back that are great. The Pros are very similar to J's but one positive is that they sit flush with the Gobi Rack. I have angled the mounts out because straight back, the 2 floods overlap each other. Angled, they have a pretty wide span lighting up everything behind me.

The one negative and I haven't really determined this yet is that they will not go past the rear spoiler pointing down. But for what it's worth, the rear lights make up for that and the floods make up for the next 50' or 60' feet.

You're spot on. I think in my case it's more of "not having the proper equipment". I have, what I would consider spots which aid in backing up, but in some cases washout the backup camera b/c of the angle.

I love the idea of having them and will probably replace them with something a little more practical.

In my opinion not having them would be more detrimental then having them. For example; I recently returned from a trip to ARK and found myself in extremely tight spots at night. I was basically trying to maneuver around trees at night in very tall brush and mud with little or no visibility (alone as usual). So, I turned all of my lights on and got out without a hitch. In no way am I saying I couldn't have done it if I didn't have them, but I definitely lowered the possibility of damaging something or getting stuck.

What about lights in the rear bumper like [MENTION=68685]Ducmonsta[/MENTION] has? You don't get the "camp" light option since they would be to low on the vehicle, but no hatch blocking issue either. Between the bumper mounted and side facing lights on the gobi, you probably get a pretty good all around coverage. The rear bumper light could be tied to both a switch and the rear lights since they are low enough to be likely legal in most states... thoughts?

My lights are almost completely useless on my bajarack. B/C the rack is so low, it definitely limits the amount of visibility. You can also see how close they are to touching when the rear hatch is open. Ugh....

I don't know if guys running the gobi have better visibility?

The lights mounted on/inside the bumper are more practical and since I'm getting a bumper from cbi...that's the route I'll go.

As far as lighting is concerned the dual SRM's in all 4 corners was the best and most useful mod so far.
