J-BlickPhoto Thread

Hi JB,

I'm in need of a solution like your hood scoop wrap for sun reflection on my Trail. Did you buy this piece pre-cut or install and cut it yourself? I'm assuming it's the 3m 1080 matte vinyl? This looks perfect for what I need. Thanks for any info.

I don't have the link....but the people's choice...your friend and mine...loved by women and dogs alike...J-Blick...

Had 2 great pix of of the pup over on ExPo today!!

Thanks for all of the comments guys. It's been crazy at work and every thursday I literally run from the office and to a "somewhat" remote location to decompress.

The new pup has been an absolute pain in the a$$, but she's awesome on so many levels. Teaching her to become a proper travel companion has been interesting, but it will pay off in the end.

I haven't been taking that many photos b/c we are approaching ultra marathon season and running takes up a large portion of my free time. But don't think for one minute that means I'm staying home....:pound: Here are a few from the past several weeks.

I'm learning that a huge part of Overlanding is just experiencing everything around you, even if it's in your backyard.

You have a beautiful new pup. :)

Not to pry, I was just curious, what happened to Bear? Is he okay? Did I miss something?

Yep it's 3m and I did cut it myself. It doesn't look as good as you think, although I know I'm just being particular. Overall, if you have lights on top or you hate being blinded by the sun due to the angle of the hood scoop, it's the perfect fix. I'm 6'1 and when I'm standing 5-10 feet in front of the truck, I can barely tell it's there.

Love your set-up they should sell them like this from the factory IMO. With your wheel spacers with 285's did you have to chop on the body mount at all?

No, but I probably should. It's on my list of things to do, but lighting, storage, water solutions, and a rear bumper have priority. A lot of my driving is on dirt roads, beaches, fire breaks, etc, so rarely do I rub. There have been a few times where I'm playing around, and the rubbing is pretty bad. If you have the time, get it done.

Ya, the big guy is in NC. The girlfriend lives up there....so it's a LONG complicated story.

Glad he's alright :) I/we have dogs as companions and we watch all of our friends dogs when they are away. Needless to say we are busy. I always worry when one disappears, mine or not.

Definitely no need to explain, I understand complicated.

Always glad to see puppy pictures, dogs grow too fast and live too short!

Getting the weekend started off right. That's another Recon Marine taking out a few clays. After shooting, I'm headed to the woods for some much needed camping. Have a great weekend! :fro:

Antenna question

Mountain time is always a good time.

Really like your thread. Was wondering about the secondary anchor point for your antenna- somewhere (long lost) you described your antenna set up but didn't mention the extra anchor. I've been looking for something like that and can't find it or reference to anything like it. Mind sharing what it is/ where you found it?

Thanks much
Peter

i read through your thread and didn't see my questions answered, but

what mount are you you using for your iPad that hangs it over the radio face? and the ladder that you have for your baja rack. is that the gobi ladder or does baja 'secretly' make one for their rack? I've searched high and low and the only rack ladder i know of is the gobi

Well, there isn't a "secondary" anchor point. Just the Diamond K400 hatch/trunk mount with coaxial. You position the antenna at the angle you want and tighten a couple of screws and there you have it. It moves slightly (overtime) but nothing substantial.

I found the mount at a local CB shop in Houston, but I'm sure you can find them online. Google Magic!!
