Yep, back to NC! In a perfect world, I would like to have a job there before I leave TX. If not, I'll be there in OCT/NOV. I'll get in touch with you since I'll be REALLY close to the USNWC. I've got a single speed that needs to stretch it's legs!!

Lol can't wait! I have been riding my SS almost every day for the past several weeks. Still old, still slow but I love to ride and I ride there at least 2X/month. I ride a lot down at Ann Springs in Ft. Mill as well as the Backyard every now and then. Best part about riding USNWC? The beverages afterwards while watching the rafters and kayakers!

I arrived at the coast around 10pm. Drove for 45 min to my "secret spot" and snapped this photo around 1am.

JB- I hate to ask for your camera settings on this pic but I'm going to anyway! I tried to take a pic (Nikon D7000) of the lunar eclipse we had in April and it was a fing disaster. If you have a sec, can you post your settings for night photography? Thx

Wind was minimal

I was also facing south, away from the city. This was a single image and I used photoshop to bring out some of the highlights and decrease the noise. Other than that...what you see is what you get! I hope that helps!!

My daughter is living about 5 minutes north of Ann Springs trails. I enjoy riding there but Whitewater is better! Just let me know when you are back.

This is great, thanks....In hindsight, I was in S mode and had my ISO set much lower...I was also laying on the ground (just after sprinklers went on) on my back trying to keep the camera steady....The end product was an Antman....

[MENTION=93894]J-BlickPhoto[/MENTION] - I am going to try my first night shot this weekend. I will be in Nags Head and from the looks of it, the weather will be clear both nights. The camera and tripod will be in the back of the truck so I hope to set my Nikon D5100 with the above settings and see what I get. As far as my photoshop skills I might need to do some research to figure out how to bring out the picture. Hopefully the light pollution at the house from the deck will be minimal and if not I can always ride out to the beach and set up shop. Thanks for posting the above details. I can't wait to give it a try!

quick question [MENTION=93894]J-BlickPhoto[/MENTION] ...are you still running the stock UCA's? Just curious because I like the way your rig sits and I know you put some miles on her.

Just saw a number of photos on canvas similar (but not as nice) as some of you your work at a gallery in Grand Junction, CO. was listed for $425 for the a starry night shot. Sounds to me like you can make some money without a job in NC that way if needed.

Interested in how you mounted the loop rope? I'm looking for a solution to hang my fishing rods during road trips. Let me know!

It's a "daisy chain" used in climbing. You should be able to find them at REI...etc. I removed the nut behind the hook that is mounted in the rear, melted a small hole in the daisy chain, and remounted the nut. I find it very useful. Nothing slides around and it's extremely strong. It doesn't look factory but it gets the job done.

Not quite at the ultra level, but I ran all throughout college competitively, and since then I have found myself relegated more and more to the bike. All runners know the day will come where the bike will finally be the only option, but until then, gotta run those knees right into the ground haha

I was telling a coworker that I was headed to the mountains for some much needed running and camping. He asked where, and I said "here" in Texas. He laughed and said Texas?!?! There aren't any mountains in TX! I asked how long has he lived here and he said he was born in Dallas. I chuckled and showed him the photos below.
