The single most inspirational thread I have encountered on any forum, anywhere.

It makes me get up, and get out....mission accomplished!!

Yep. I'm very happy with them so far. Quiet, somewhat aggressive tread design / sidewall, and they're not bad in the snow. 2 days after I bought them, we took a 1200 mile road trip with 100-150 or so off road.

Swapped over to these in 285 yesterday from 255 BFG MTs, its like riding on a cloud now, so much better.

...How do we nominate this thread as “Thread of the Century”?... Seriously, it should be “stickied” in the 5th Gen Section and titled “How to use a 4Runner Properly”.... or, “Get off your Ass and Live Your Life” thread.

I completely agree and I find it very strange. I wonder if the sidewalls are stiffer or "appear to be" due to how tall and skinny the 255's are. It's a HUGE difference in road/steering feel.

I think OP is tapping into some good feels for all of us, something only a few people on this board do. He's not motivating us to build up our trucks, he's motivating us all to get out and explore period.

You, my friend, are winning at life - well done. I am not sure of the magnitude your outdoor/adventurist influence will have with everyone who comes in contact with your posts, photos, stories, etc., but you certainly have inspired me (and based on previous comments, I’m certain countless others) to explore more. You are the lifestyle so many strive to live. I have said that when I went to buy my 4Runner, I thought I was just buying a truck. It turns out I got a more adventurous lifestyle thrown in for free - plus all the mod and gear tax [emoji47]. Stay safe and travel well!

I started reading this thread yesterday and thought about it while surfing this morning. Conditions were great this morning (chest high, springsuit warm, etc.) and, for the first time in a long time, I paid attention to the light. Want to come to San Diego and shoot some surf pictures?? The fall light at sunrise is perfect!

One question, when you're on the road and climbing, does Carolina just hang out in the truck? (I'd love to be able to take my dogs with me on trips, but two Rhodesian Ridgebacks take up most of the inside of a 4Runner.)

Anyways, keep rocking on Brother. SFMF.
