I think most Americans, myself included, are generally in favor of emissions regulations. You don't have to spend very long in Paris or any Asian city to appreciate the benefits of our emissions laws. The EPA does some nonsensical things for sure. But I'm don't think the emissions standards are one of them. I'm certainly not an eco-nazi. Just someone who likes clean air.

As a diesel mechanic, I have to disagree. The DEF systems cause the majority of the downed vehicles. The computers have very particular parameters that must be met, and for example, if a vehicle isnt run very often, it will trip a CEL. International got away with skirting the EPA by paying the fines on their engines to avoid putting DEF (and their engines were generally cleaner without the DEF) but are starting to get into it. Don't get me wrong, I love the job security, but fixing a broken system devised by yet another government agency that has no idea what theyre doing, isnt the solution.
