*I work for a large whole sale car auction called ADESA. I am the assistant Fleet/Lease Manager and I'm looking for car guys. We handle the remarketing of off lease and repossessed units on the behalf of the finance companies. The auction sells around 2,000 cars a week and my department accounts for more than a third of that.
The positions available:
Lot Specialist - You will be assigned 1 or more accounts where you handle every aspect of the unit from the time it arrives to the time it crosses the block for sale. This will include insuring qualified vehicles are up to the standards set forth by the customer, suggesting any value added reconditioning to the car (Body, mechanical, glass, tires), preparing units for sale week to week, and being the link between the customers rep and the auction.
Requirements include some general automotive knowledge. General knowledge of technology. A schedule that can allow 40-55 hour work weeks
Lot Assistant - You will work alongside a specialist on one or multiple accounts and will be in charge of insuring the units set for sale are moving as they should on the lot. Average sale size for my teams is between 75-250 cars. Your main job is keeping track of all sale units, make sure work is completed in time for presale display.
Requirements include, staying extremely organized, general automotive knowledge, and the ability to work a 40-55 hour work week.
I've been in the industry almost two years, and I love every minute of it. Its fast paced and ticks all the right boxes if you are a car guy.
