Joined the family, my 4Runner story

Just wanted to make a welcome post and to expect me around here more often :biggrin1:. I won't keep anybody here all day with a story. I've been pretty big on luxury + speed and I realized I needed something different, totally different.

Bought a completely stock 2001 4Runner SR5, 160,000 miles, 4WD

Here's my old ride and the new ride. I've had a hell of a fun-time (got stuck already getting caught on some rocks...), never had a 4WD in my life. In the Nashville area we don't get much snow but the past couple winters I sure wish I had a 4WD and now I do.

Upgrade list:

Self welded front bumper
Painted Wheels Dark Grey
Hankook All-Terrain Tires
LED Light-bar top installed
3” Suspension Lift:
Front Shock + Springs from a Tundra TRD
Rear Bilstein Shocks and Old Man Emu Springs
Kenwood Navi Head-unit
4 new door speaker
12 inch sub in the trunk
25% tint to match rear

The wheel color works very well with that paint color. I like it. I was considering hankooks when I last bought tires. Out of curiosity, what are your impressions of them? How are they on road noise at highway speeds?

I couldn't find a link online or even a picture of the can. Local Autozone has it. It's VHT Wheel Paint in Dark Grey Color, it is specifically the one that is labeled as "wheel paint". It has a TON of metallic flakes in it. However if you want to give the appearance of my wheels, shoot clear-coat from a paint gun to achieve a super glossy look which will totally change the color and reflection. Clear-coat from a can just doesn't do the same thing.

It is very beefy, good quality steel and not too bad to weld together. Identical to the AddictedOffroad tube bumper. I love it since it gives the front an empty look while looked rugged as hell.

Definitely much cheaper and greatly priced since companies are selling the same one for $800+ assembled. Have pictures of one with a winch mount?

Welcome to the forum.
The bumper has exposed the AC condenser and be aware any rock flying into the AC condenser at highway speed can destroy your AC condenser or worst can even damage the radiator.
