^^^^ this is how I judge. ^^^^
Slidders and skids speak more about the vehicle and driver than anything else. IMHO.
Guilty as charged. :lol: I just ordered a new cycling helmet from REI a few hours ago.

44 comments and no one mentioned the Gobi ladder? I drive a slightly modified TE with more Colorado pinstrpping and twisted up and beat to hell skidplates then should be legal for two year old vehicle.

I'd like a TRD Pro if the grill didn't look like those poor cleft lip children (or a whale shark), and if they came with KDSS and 7.5" wide wheels that had valve stem protectors and wheels that didn't have easily-scratched black paint.

Here in rural N. Nevada every T4R is an SR5 (there is one Limited in town) Most are white.
All are stock except for having LT tires - ATs or MTs. No light bars, lifts, blacked out chrome, etc - nothing -nada.
In order to see any of that stuff you have to drive into downtown Reno.

I should start keeping a photo documentation record of T4Rs in the wild.
Last night at the gym there was a Barcelona red SR5 that an early twenties girl left in.
This morning I saw a black Limited driven an authentic hot tennis mom who was yelling at her kids in the back seats.

SR5-a fat bastard with mustache to hold donut crumbs for later. Probably pretends to mountain bike but has a hard time making it up the trail. Cries in bed at night.
Trail/TRD OR-A true off roader (search for scratches or dents) or a poser (often seen in mall parking lots)
TRD Pro-Someone who says "bro' a lot. Likely has a Grenade sticker on window.
Limited-Absolute badass. Think most interesting man in the world, but better...or maybe a soccer mom.

My first car was a Corvette. They have a "corvette waive" thing that all/most Vette owners do to each other in passing. So... I have been doing the 4runner "hey!" ever since I noticed there's something special about them (so for quite some time now).
By the way, I'm new here. I have a 1999 SR-5 (manual trans) that needs a new engine setup. I'm in Sacramento area. I'm trying to figure the forum out and just HOW to post etc (without violating rules and posting repetitive things etc).
Can anyone take the time to link me through it? I need an engine, trans and a transfer case for a 3rd Gen manual. Pref from a 2000 Tacoma with lower miles.
