OK, so Unner was nice enough to sell me his old lightly used stock height front struts and rear coil springs for my 2wd 99.
I'm doing a lot of research and can't quite find what I'm looking for, so new thread:
I'm looking into the Moog 81041 Springs for the rears, but concerned as to their overall longevity. I keep tools in the back all the time and pretty frequently have furniture in the back (do some freelance reno in my spare time). Don't want to have to deal with a saggy rear end in a few years, but the price is right for a pair ($36 on Amazon) and they supposedly aren't too difficult to change so I might just forge ahead and deal with potential future sag.
I have a few junkyards near me and one always has 5-7 3rd 4runners, 5+ Tundras, several Sequoya, etc, and the guy seems to like me as he always cuts me deals (I got a complete TBU for $80)
Couple questions:
Are there any (other) known vehicles whose springs will fit a stock height 4runner?
I'm aware of the Land Cruiser FRONT springs for the REAR of the 4runner.
Will the smallest LC Springs (2wd 7 wrap, 3.5" lift, if I'm not mistaken) work with stock height shocks? I know a pretty significant rake with stock front height, so...
Will the Tundra front springs fit stock height front struts?
I don't believe 1st gen Sequoia springs will fit at all- too wide.
FJ Cruiser only fits 4th gen, I believe...
Anything else?
Hardly any offroading; I'd rather have a bit of rake and firmness. Wouldn't mind a slight lift for the 'poser' look though.
This is obviously a budget build, so please no 'buy new shocks' posts.
