Just bought a used 4 runner, how did I do?

2014 2wd, premium package, 35k miles for $24.5 K. I did ok by KBB but not sure what the realistic market is out there. I really did not do my research like I should have. It is a one owner, driver was a teenage gir, its in pristine condition. Wife loved the heated fake, leather seats, 3rd row seating, blue tooth and navigation? We saw it on craigslist. He started much higher, went to $25.5k and then took my offer. Seems like lack of a moon roof was a deterrent from many that looked at it.

I had my heart set on 4 wd and should have stuck with it, but besides of the slim possible beach trip it would never go off road so thats why I went with it.

So by what you know about the market, what do you think?

Is the front driver and passenger tinted windows standard? They look like factory tint but I have not seen that with most 4 runners on the road. It may have been special ordered, dont know.

Congrats on the new purchase! Not sure how different the Southeast is with tint but midwest region doesn't come with front tint stock.

3rd row is nice to have...wish Toyota put rear vents in the cargo area like the LC. Hope you enjoy it! Cheers
 
I would not have settled for a 2wd 4 Runner. Why not just get a Highlander? Same amount of room, 3rd row seating, better ride, better mileage, better acceleration and more options. I'm not exactly sure why the even make a 2wd 4 Runner, or Jeep for that matter.

Not meant to be mean, just my opinion.

Congrats on the purchase! 2WD is completely fine I drive my T4R in 2WD 95% of the time. People use their cars for different purposes so if you don't need it why buy it?

Congratulations on the new vehicle! I agree with others - don't listen to anyone who says 4WD-or-nothing. You made a wise decision, and based it on your driving habits and unlikelihood of going off road. That thing has been driven no more than 10k miles per year, and is essentially a new 4Runner. Without the 4WD gear up front, maybe it'll weigh a little less and get you a couple more mpg too. AND, considering what you paid and how new it is, resale should be solid if/when you decide to get a 4WD.

So enjoy your purchase and ignore the buzz-killers! One request - a few pics, please? Thanks!
 
Just upgraded from a Highlander. You made a good choice. As many times as I have taken ours off-road, 4wd was a luxury not necessary. We picked up a 2017 4wd for $28k. It was Toyota Certified from a dealer with 100k warranty. It doesn’t have leather or 3rd row (which my wife would’ve loved)

Enjoy your truck! It will last and retain its value.

Congrats on your purchase! We all have different reasons for buying our vehicles the way we do. Its a Toyota ,so go enjoy her and make awesome memories.
 
My only issue with the 3rd row is no vents. Unfortunately my wife and i didn't think about that. So we will have to trade in the 08 for a used LC200. Breaks my heart...

People have different opinions on 4wd. I like it, glad I have it, but don't need it for 11.5 months of the year. Haha. Not a big fan of crossovers...just not my cup of tea.

Yeah this is definitely an issue. I want 3rd row vents even though I don't have a 3rd row for the dog, hahah.
 
Congrats on the purchse. I always look at resale value before I buy. In my area 2wd suv’s and trucks are seriously under valued. You cant go by the blue book here. There is a nearly identical one thats been on craigslist for about a year and the people cant sell it for 20k.
 
Seems like you got a solid deal but the 2WD will harm you when you trade or sell it. I think most of us are of the “rather have it and not need it” way if thinking.

I regretted one purchase where I bought 2WD with the same rationale as you to save a buck. Hated not having 4WD all the time. Now that I have the Runner, I’ve done things I’ve never done or thought to do because I have such a capable vehicle. My Runner actually made me more adventurous.

Either way, congrats. You got a good deal. Window tint is not factory. Period.

On my 2018, the sticker has upgraded window tint listed for like 800 dollars. I didn't ask for it and didn't pay for it, but it is an option once off the boat.
