well my 95 has a few problems to say the least but i want to start with the tailgate. the tailgate will not open. the key will not turn either way, nor will the lock move up from the inside. it would be nice to be able to open it. any help would be appreciated. i searched the forums and didnt find the answere. Also, anyone in the westpalm area of florida. looking for a mechanic to start working on my truck that other people have used
just got a 95 with problems.

You only can open the tailgate, if the rearwindow is down. Usually by turning the key (or using the switch from the driverposition), the window moves down. Then you can reach the opener and pull the doorhandle to open the gate.
If this doesn't work, I seems to me, that the motor for the rearwindow is faulty. It's a familiar problem of the 2nd gen.
