Just replaced engine, cranks but wont fire... spark?

heres the quick version. 3 months ago wife blows up her 2000 limited. 275k and died of oil starvation. Pulled motor immediately to get rollin on the rebuild. Well.... after finding it needed 2 heads and 4 cams decided to go with a used unit. Tax man gave us our money back for paying him for no reason and so here we are. Picked up a 3.4 with 110k out of a wrecked Tacoma. replaced most gaskets and gave everything a once over. everything checked out and the sucker who crashed his truck even gave us a timing belt change 10k ago. Got everything plugged in and dropped that puppy in. She cranks and is getting fuel however no spark.

truck sat for 3 months with no battery in it...bad transponder key/receiver?

Check your plugs and make sure all your grounds are hook up.

The transponder will be fine.

why did you need a "used 4runner engine harness " ?

No I used her old stuff on the new motor haha. Checked plugs and im not getting any spark. Where is the cas on these and what is the sensor on the passenger side camgear

All signs lead to the immobilizer key. I unplugged the ecu and harness and they remained unplugged for an extended period of time

The key is flashed to the ecu. Can't lose it. That is like removing the battery from a camara and year later, putting a new battery and it not remembering how it takes pictures.

Check your igniter for power and ground. check your fuses, make sure you didn't blow any. Check all your electrical plugs for tightness and sure you don't have any dangling wires.

Make sure you have the transponder key and not a copy.

BAd crank sensor would set check engine light and would be easy to diagnosis with a scanner.

yeah like I said it wont run, it turns over great. still no spark. the crank position sensor is the same as a cam angle sensor right? if its not functioning at all could it possibly not tell the coil packs when to fire? everything worked great before it blew up I mean the motor even ran when I pulled it it just ran like shit. that's when led me to belive the immobilizer theory .

o and the only cel I have is a tranny solenoid
