I don't know where to post this when I got out of a intensive trail with alot of flexing today I looked under the front driverside of my truck and I find this:

What is the purpose of this collar/boot, and do it need immediate attention? I'm currently out of country, more than 3000miles from home, hauling my trailer and family.

Please let me know.

Looks like it is the collar for the outside of the bushing. Use a zip tie temporarily and you'll be good to go. If you don't have one, the bushing is not going to go anywhere since the piston mount is bolted around the bushing.

Thank you guys. Will gather zip ties and zip the boot back in place. Truck is still under warranty, Toyota Canada will deal with this.

Btw, did you think it just pop out because of the flexing or I hit something? Because there's no scratch or anything.

Went to the dealership to have this repair.
They said the only purpose of the collar was to hold the boot in place in the truck building process, it cannot be ordered.

I find it hard to believe and I would like to know what you guys have to say about that before I go find another dealer.

It's not a special part. show it to any auto repair store and they'll get one for a buck or two and loan you the tightening tool. I'm not surprised Toyota doesn't carry it as a listed part.

Did you ever get this replaced/fixed or just use a zip tie? I looked under mine the other day and found the same thing. I've been offroad regularly (rough "roads" with lots of rocks, but not crawling) and haven't seen/heard anything abnormal.

My 2019 TRD Off Road with 12000 km looks the same , passenger and drivers side outboard collar clamp fell off. The KDSS Rubber split Bushing seems to move around ,pushing the collar .I just put some seizing wire on, don't think it a big problem as long as the Bushing does not pop out.
