These remotes came with my 2001 4runner which also had an aftermarket alarm installed. I do not have any other keyless entry components.

Looking at a dealership parts website, I was unable to locate the new cost. Internet search reveals that the going rate for used is between $40 to $65 each.
 
Is one still available? And do you know if they will work on the 4th gens? they look the same i believe when i bout mine i didnt come with one and im getting tired of having to use my key to unlock the door. I live in Alabama surely shipping is not $20 to here haha let me know thanks.

I'm not sure if it will work on 4th gen. Check with your local dealer. The numbers listed in post #1 are what's on the back. And the $20 difference was if someone bought both. The price is $30 shipped for one.

That's a huge deal.

Any details on what happened...? Find it tough to believe someone would swipe something of so little value at risk of a federal offense, and loss of their job.

Well, I want to believe that the envelope was accidentally ripped open and the key fob fell out. But, the key fob was wrapped several times in a full size paper towel which took up the full length of the envelope. USPS placed the ripped envelope containing the paper towel in another envelope and continued with delivery. The paper towel made it to the buyer, but the key fob didn't. Those facts have me skeptical.

Lesson learned. Use FedEx.
