KidV's 1985 4Runner

well as your friend (or as close to a friend as one can be having never met in person haha) i'd recommend paying someone to finish it if you'll never get around to it yourself. You can always sell the truck and you'll get a good price for a running 3rz swapped 1st gen vs selling parts or as a roller. plus it allows you to drive it around for a while so you'll fall back in love with it and keep it :)

No more updates. I'm making an effort to simplify and streamline, and the Bastard was a casualty of that effort. The new owner will have time to get it back on the dirt where it belongs and I'll start another down the road when I have the resources to do it right.

that sucks:AK47:

Found a 3RZ. It's 3 hours away, and just the motor, no bellhousing or harness or ECU. Fella wants $800 for it. **** me runnin'.

DDDAAAUUUMM 800 bones! Better come with a reach around.
I wish I could find one that cheap. the best ive found so far is 100K engine, for $1400. engine ONLY.

ive driven a few trucks with that engine, its impressive for a 4cyl.

id be interested in a swap like that, but I really like a v8 :D
welp, here I am, looking for a 3rz to replace the poor broken old 22re in my 85. the timing chain broke a couple weeks ago. tore the engine down, and it just needs to much work to get back to proper running order.
