Was doing an oil change, checked the power steering reservoir and it was low. Didn't even have any fluid on the bottom of the stick after sitting. Never had any whining or anything from lock to lock prior to this. Steering felt fine and made no noise. The cap said Dextron ATF, I had a couple bottles of red Toyota ATF so I topped it off. It was a bit over the HOT mark after being driven, but not much. The pump is now whining constantly and varies with engine RPM. I thought maybe I overfilled it, so I sucked some out, but still whining. Did I kill the pump somehow? No leaks, just the pump whining.
