Knocking noise from right wheel/suspension area

Hey guys, the other day I happened to notice that the "knocking" noise from the back has gotten a lot louder lately. When I don't have the radio on, I can hear it clearly, and at times, even with the radio on. When going over small bumps, and while accelerating and turning at the same time. It comes when the suspension adapts to the height of the ground. The sound sounds like a small hammer lightly hitting a piece of wood, like a 2x4. could this be the bushings on my sway bar? The sound does sound like some bar going back and forth. The truck does have 104K and the suspension is stock, no X-RES. The shocks are original, but they seem to be still ok. When I jump up and down on it, nothing sounds, only when driving. Before you ask, YES, I have checked the jack, the spare tire, the seats, the pull over cargo cover, and anything else loose that could be making the noise, and none of those items were the culprit. It is driving be crazy! I am going to get it fixed over spring break. Any advice to what it could be?

Well guys, thanks for all you input! jk. So today I took it in and turns out it was the bushings. The rubber ones that go between the spring/shock and frame. Also known as isolator bushings? anyways, the bad news is that they may have to take the springs off to get to them. Total cost is $270, and Toyota has to order the parts, so apparently these are not replaced that often. I have 105 K so it doesn't surprise me. I will update as soon as it gets done next week and let you know the difference.

I am experiencing the same problem with my front-right suspension on my 4runner. I suspect it is a bushing but I would rather not take it to the dealership.

Yes, from what I have read, It is not life threatening, just an inconvenience. They bushings don't come by themselves, just with the coil springs, so I have put this project on hold. Nice to see another Mississippian on here.

If I were you I would confirm that on Ebay. You can find pretty much everything and more on there. Turns out I actually don't have a bushing problem. My CV joint is going out. Thanks anyway!
