Land Cruiser Coils rear/99 talls rear; Tundra or OME front?

Question: I know some may look down on my inability to find the answer to this question by searching the threads...before you cast your stones let me tell you I have scoured the threads looking for this answer, well as much time as I can devote (I'll admit to at least one 8 hr day at work searching t4r.org, ih8mud.com, toytech.com).
Since many get asked this I'll supply this info up front. I have a 1999 4Runner SR5 4wd, the end effect I want is a daily driver with a "smoother than butter ride", and occasionally (1 a month) mild to medium 4wheeling, once a year seriouse 4Wheeling, but still have the great off road look similar to SnowRunner.


Anyhow here is my question: I want to buy a set of 99 "tall" springs and coils from another member on this forum to use with my existing bilstien front struts and tokiko rear shocks with aribags for the rears I have on the way?

or

buy a set of 4 Land cruiser coils which i hear i are the best ride out there. have to use the front LC coils on the rear...why? Please explain to me...and for the fronts use a Tundra front set up with oh and LC shocks for the rears with airbags?

or

OME coils on the front with my existing bilstien struts and on the rear LC coils with LC shocks with airbags?

I know about the panhard and brake line extensions, some have said they were fine without doing these "recommended" mods...

oh and the LC coils i am looking at on craigslist are from a 1993 FZJ80 are these 7, 8.25, or 9 wound springs?? Why can i not use the LC coils all the way around? do they not fit on the 4Runner top plate for the strut assembly?

Your best bet would be the 7 wrap LC coils in the rear with a LC shock (Trekmasters are highly recommended) and Tundra set up up front. This will give you the best ride and about 2.5" lift in the front and 3.5" in the back. There are a ton of threads about the tundra set up for all the details.

99 coils are nice, but you won't really notice the lift and will want more. They will ride the smoothest because they are factory parts.

The LC coils only work for the rear because the front coils are the correct diameter for the rear set up of our 4runners. The rear LC coils are too wide and for our set up. Also we use a strut set up in the front. For the wraps it is best to go by the color codes. They are the best way to identify which wraps they are. Thanks I have that thread saved as a bookmark, should have read the whole thread. I guess I wanted to know if the 1993's I saw on craigslist were the 7 wraps. Guess I could ask him what color dots they have, but in rereading the thread i think i'll get them from Rocki Top Auto cause the guy is selling a set of 4 fron and rears which i don't need.

Last question what year and make of Tundra should I buy the strut assembly off of? I know it needs to be TRD but does it matter what year was there one that sat higher since there is talk about the Runner raking with the LC coil in the rear? Or if you have a link to a good thread on the Tudra front end topic i'd much appreciate it.

I don't believe there is enough data collected to distinguish what a 93 landcruisers color codes will be. I mean you can get some guesses and ppl can say what they got from a 93 but I'd check those color codes to be sure.

I read all your posts on the LC thread referenced above. I am thinking of emailing the craigslits guy back and asking him if he'll sell me only the fronts or do you think I should get all 4 of them and resell on ih8mud.com? He's offering to sell all 4 for 70 bucks. I am in texas he's in pheonix hopefully not a scammer. Or should I go with Rocki Top Auto others have used since they deal with these all the time?

I saw on fightman's build thread he used tundra strut assemblies from a 2000 TRD. Is that what others have used? Is there a year that sit's higher so I don't have a front rake? Or perhaps it looks better with a little rake...

Also anyone use the airlift 1000 bags in the rear LC Coils?
