Front OEM 99 tall springs part numbers and why are the left and right different?

So I have a 99 and I want to put the front correct springs back on. The internet and all the aftermarkets are saying all the 4runner front springs are the same. My back springs are fine and not sagging.

My question is being one of the springs part numbers 48131-35350 is DISCONTINUED. Can I just use both 48131-35400 instead? Why are they different for the left and right? From one form I reading is

SPRING, FRONT COIL, LH 48131-35350

Manufacture notes: L=374.0,W(265/70R16 TIRE)

SPRING, FRONT COIL, RH 48131-35400

Manufacture notes: L=368.0,W(265/70R16 TIRE)

So the one that is available is slightly shorter? Is it still taller than all the other 3rd gen OEM 4runner springs?

Ok I did more research on part number 48131-35400. It’s coming up on 96-2002. Somethings not right.

It is right there in the description - the left spring free length is 6mm longer to try to correct for the driver's side lean... They are wound the same direction so you can use two of the same one if necessary. Too bad you can't get a really thin top plate spacer to make up for it (you can get down to 3/8" or ~9.5mm from Wheeler's). Ideally you'd use a 1/4" spacer for lean correction.

I mentioned the height difference in the bottom of the post. Is there a driver side lean because of the gas tank? So even if you bought aftermarket’s you wouldn’t get a taller spring for the driver side?

I think this is the spacer you’re talking about that will fix the lean issue! Just a moment...

Yes, gas tank (well, and the driver!) along with the front drive components (prop shaft, front diff) offset to the driver's side.

Nice to see there is a 'trim packer' style spacer to trim up ride height.

I just adjusted the ride height on my front coilovers (Kings) and from the factory they are pre-loaded 0.2" more on the driver's side (translates to ~.4" of lift differential).

I wondered about doing this with the taller spring that isnt currently available.
What did your hub to fender measurements end up at?
