Landcruiser 1997

I originally was looking at 93-97 LCs, but a few items made me a little leary:
Headgasket issues, weight vs power, mpg (as my buddy would say it will out climb a lot of stuff with the exception of a gas station), availability of suspension/engine mods vs 3rd gens.
just my .02:hiding:

There are far more suspension mods available for the LC then for the 3rd gen. Engine mods not so much and yes gas mileage is very bad. I know a few that have put superchargers and turbo systems on their LC's and helped with power and MPG. That or put a nice V8 in it and call it a day. I wouldn't mind having one but as a second vehicle for sure due to MPG.

if you get the LC cheap enough there is the slee off road 4.7 smog legal v8 swap.
Spoke to Christo about it, it's the non vvti version and will set you back a few large coins, but it's drop off and pick up turn key ready to go.

I am personally looking for a locked lx450 and when the motor is ready for rebuild I'll cross the v8 bridge.

AFASIK he still does the cummins diesel conversion also. If not, I think Profits Cruisers will. Anything like that is going to cost you though but if you got it, why not :naughty:
