Yup, PureONE 20195 is what I use. Also, the K&N HP2009. The 1" welded nut on the K&N is nice for removal.
BTW, if your engine is clean and in good running condition, you can go 2 oil changes on one filter. I usually go 4k on the oil, and 8K on the filter. Done it several times with zero difference showing on the UOA. (used oil analysis).

OEM is affordable and superior IMO
That is deeper than the "factory parts catalogue spec" filter by about 3/4"

+2 on the POne 20195. If one is overly a*&l about their oil filters, inspect the 20195 for yellow overspray around the gasket before buying. Mine that have had overspray on them have been cleaned off with brake cleaner before installing. Mobil M1-209 works as well.
Being a*&l, I even have a magnet stuck to the side of the filter to catch any nasty metals floating around in the oil.
The original Japanese oil filter is a work of art (not OEM). I think they are now offering a TRD version for the 4runner.

I run the PL 41516 NAPA Platinum and 8K OCI. This is an oversized super-premium filter by Wix and costs about $11. I got a very good UOA from Blackstone saying I could go longer but 8k is my limit. I use SuperTech Synthetic 5W-30. I have run NAPA/Wix filters in everything I have owned since 1970. I have never lost an engine.

Why do you guys run larger oil filters?
Ony pros/cons I can think of
Pro:
More filter media
More oil capacity (minimal but more)
Change the filter less often(not something I am personally interested in)
Cons:
Slightly lower oil pressure(this is debatable, probably minimal at most and just something I've read)
Warranty issues (probably not an issue for most 3rd gen users)
Different filters have different bypass valves, with different ratings(this also can tie back into the oil pressure debate)
I guess if you are changing the oil within the 3-5k mark then what's the point?

Changing the volume of the filter will not affect the pressure, as the pressure is dicatated by the amount of flow the oil pump provides vs the sum of all of the openings/clearances between all the lubricated moving parts.
Running the longer OCI with a larger filter is where it makes a difference. I run 7.5k -10k mi OCI's (whenever it starts to get dirty I'll change it), but it allows for a ~$50/year savings in oil changes over the standard filter/oil and doing 3-5k OCI's.

More filter media to help catch anything floating around in there is my main reason.
I usually add a 1/4 of a quart extra to the crankcase every change.
The only knock against the 20195 filter is that the casing is not stout (quite pliable) in comparison to the K&N, Mobile, and Royal Purple.

I have always had problems with the toyota filters because they seem to have a different hex size/pattern than all of the aftermarket ones so my oil filter cup wrench never fits on them right and slips off. Every time I go to the dealer either for my runner or my wifes rav4 they put the filter on so tight you can't get it off without an oil wrench. The one time I even had to put the oil back in and take it to the dealer to loosen. All the aftermarket filters fit fine.

Are you going at it from the fender well? Easy to get good torque from there unless they used some impact wrench on it lol
