Larger Oil Filter

Hey all...I just bought an oil filter from the dealer. It is the bigger one, you guys know, the filter that is about an inch taller than the standard size one.

Here is my question: Does anybody know the corresponding filter number for, say, a Purolator Premium Plus or Fram Tough Guard or Mobil One, etc.? The smaller size is Purolator L10241; Fram 3614; Mobil M102.

I even went to Advance Auto Parts and the cross reference kept coming up for the smaller filter. The guy who worked there couldn't even find the larger sized Toyota filter in his computer.

OIL FILTER

I changed to the Amsoil EaO34 at my first oil change,Amsoil makes another one that is normal size too.I found out about the differences by doing a search here, might give that a try.I'm sure Wix makes one too thats a little larger.They say ya' gotta be careful about drain-back valves and pressure settings on just 'any filter' that happens to fit. I'll trust Amsoil till I hear different.

If not then I was looking for a big filter prior to finding the 90915-20004. I discovered that the Toyota T4R filter seems to have a medium bypass pressure which limits choices. IIRC the Mobil1 M1209, the K&N BK 7355568 and the Napa FIL1762 are good choices.

My V6 came with the 90915-20004, which is the larger filter. Currently, I'm using the OEM V8 filters, 90915-YZZD3. I would recommend when you're cross referencing aftermarket filters look for the 4.7 V8 applications.
