Lasfit Pro H11 LED Headlight Bulbs vs. HID

A few weeks ago the Lasfit company reached out and asked me if I would compare the to my Xenon Depot HID (Volt Ballast + 5500k bulbs) with their Lasfit Pro Custom H11 LED bulbs with Dual-Cooling System (1 fan per bulb, 1 fan per headlight housing dust cap). I agreed to the comparison but would only be honest with my findings. Lasfit stated they only want unbiased reviews and promptly sent me out the kit.

Background:
I have had my Xenon Depot Volt HID kit installed on my 2018 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium for over 3 years. They have been fantastic. I also have the Xenon Depot Xtreme Pro LED 9005 bulbs for my high beams/DRL for 3+ years and have been very happy with them too. I like the design of the Xenon Depot 9005 Xtreme LED bulbs as they have bunch of heatsink fins to dissipate heat rather than a heatsink with fans. It may not be fair to compare the two LED bulbs so I will just stick with the Lasfit Pro H11 LED vs. my XD Volt HIDs. I just wanted to mention the fan-less bulbs and my preference for that design. I also wanted to mention that Xenon Depot has changed ownership. I have not tried any new products from Xenon Depot since the changeover. So, my XD Volt kit may no longer be available, and their newer products may/may not be up to the same quality as before. I just wanted to mention this in case there were questions.

When I initially installed XD Volt HID kit, I was super impressed. Especially when compared to the stock halogen bulbs. However, I was getting flashed at night due to glare. I realized I never realigned my lights after a suspension lift, so I proceeded to correctly lower the beam pattern to not blind on-coming traffic. After the adjustment I have not been flashed since. The XD Volts have served me well with no complaints other than the color temperature being a little yellow/green.

Now onto the Lasfit Kit. The kit arrived well packaged.

The installation was straightforward (dust caps can be hard to get fully sealed), but when I first fired up the lights, I heard a loud buzzing noise from the right headlight. I was a bit concerned as it sounded terrible. Upon further inspection, the dust cover fan was rubbing against the dust cover housing making the buzzing sound. I had to remove the bulb and dust cap and pull the back cover from the dust cap to help stop the fan from hitting the housing. In doing so, I accidentally pulled off the metal cap on the cover. It seems like it is mostly cosmetic, but it is now separated from the dust cap. It did stop the buzzing problem though. I reinstalled the bulb and dust cap though I had some issues getting the cap to properly seal. It took me several ties to get it fully locked, but I finally was able to do so.

When I turn on the lights a second time to view their beam pattern, color temp and throw, I came away quite impressed. The light they produce had less spill-off than my HID’s. Their pattern was tight with a good cut-off line. Their luminosity vs. the HID are about the same maybe slightly brighter. The color temps of the headlights High beams vs. Low beams vs. my Toyota (Tundra) LED fog lights are now all matched. Previously with my XD HID’s, the light output was far more yellow/green.

I have not had extensive night driving time with these bulbs yet, but my initial impressions are quite good. I will continue to use them and will report back after some time to see how they hold up over time. Hopefully the “dual cooling system” will hold up and prevent any moisture from entering the headlight housing. Again, I will report back.

Pros:
Bright output with good throw distance
Clean Beam pattern with good cut-off line
Fairly easy installation (save for tight dust cap fit)
Nice color temperature
Well packaged

Cons:
Dust Cap fan was rubbing the housing on the passenger side
Metal Plate on Dust Cap came off while trying to fix the rubbing sound (see picture)
Fans are loud (when the engine is off, the fans are easily heard inside the vehicle)
More expensive than other headlight bulbs including many HIDs.
*Slightly complicated design with potential failure points (2 fans running when the lights are on may not last as long as a fan-less design)

Conclusion: I want to keep the Lasfit Pro H11 LED headlights and do some further testing. Though I was very happy with my Xenon Depot Volt HID kit, they are now almost 4 years old with a potential for failure. I want to see if the Lasfit bulbs will last. I will run them thought the Winter and report any additional findings if they come up. Hopefully Lasfit will only continue to improve their products and keep coming up with aftermarket solutions for the vehicles we love. Thanks to Lasfit for sending me out the bulbs.

I've had these for about a year now and I angled them all the way down

I have a 3in lift and drove behind my friends lowered car to test them and he had no complaints
Install was a little annoying with my bigger hands so I had said friend help me install
Other than that they're all gravy, besides the noise when off like you said

Have had no one high beam me, have you?

In before the "Zero chance these are good. You are going to blind oncoming drivers and send them into a ditch and they will die in a fiery explosion of chaos. These are reckless not DOT approved bulbs. The lux past 40' is less than OEM halogens and you will hit every deer that crosses in front of you. You call that cut off? look at all those artifacts and inconsistent outputs. Look at all those dead spots. Haven't you seen that thread on Tacoma World with that guy that compared all the headlights? There are no good headlights for the 4runner except OEM halogens. You should just drive without headlights, you reckless loser" crowd.

I've had these since February this year. No issues yet. No install issues. Never been flashed. Great lights.

No, not yet. I do have the lights aimed down and these bulbs have less spill-off than my previous HID set-up. Fingers crossed I dont. I just cant take it to Toyota for inspection. They warned me they would fail me for the aftermarket lights. I now keep spare halogen bulbs in the truck if that ever is a problem.

Sorry for the late reply.

1. So far, so good. They have been working great.
2. The range is better than halogens, about the same as the HID I had before
3. The left or greener light is from Xenon Depot HIDs and the right (white light) is from the Lasfit.

I followed your lead, and I tossed a set of these in mine a few weeks ago. I was concerned with the "blinding oncoming drivers" that everyone seems to be concerned with for good reason. However, the OEM candles that they call headlights, just were not cutting it at all.

Like yourself, I have big hands. Actually, my hands look like a sausage and Belgian waffle breakfast, so install, especially on the battery side, was certainly a NSFW endeavor. Getting everything lined up and then locked into place was not fun, but eventually, I did it, and only had a little bit of blood to clean off of my hands.

I was very impressed with the cutoff and lack of rouge light. I have also been very happy with the test the wife and I conducted to make sure I wasn't blinding oncoming traffic. We even used my 79 year old mother as a guinea pig and the upgrade passed the oncoming sensitive senior citizen driver test.

Our fans are certainly audible when the T4R is shut off (they run for a brief period to cool down) but not while driving. Even when towing, which drops my rear about an inch, we still haven't been flashed. I'm pretty paranoid about blinding folks when driving, or even being a minor annoyance, so I'm pretty happy that it seems that I have added a ton of extra light, but avoided being that guy.

Getting ready to get new headlights and have been between HID and these Lasfit for a while now. Based on what all you've said so far I'm leaning Lasfit but I have to check in and ask, still happy? I live around a lot of wildlife, there are about 40-50 deer that frequent the roads in my neighborhood and after narrowly missing a black bear twice I unfortunately hit one a few months back. I don't expect miracles and seeing a black animal at night is hard, but I need all the help I can get seeing these deer and bears all while not blinding others at night.

I have also been thinking about the lasfit as well. I have regular H11 aftermarket LEDs, they are good, bright but i dont like how the light is more focused more to right side of the road and not so much lighting up the center of the vehicle. Not sure if its the style led or something else. They are 360 deegree adjustable so that the led chip is horizontal and not angled like some of the cheaper ones.
I would love to try these and see how they work and if they are better than what i have. Does Lasfit do some kind of demo to try them or just have to spend the $$$ and find out on my own.

So far, I am still impressed with these lights. They are bright, have a nice even throw, and match my fog lights perfectly. My only complaints are they are loud and some inspection places (Toyota dealers for example) will fail me because they are not DOT approved.

So I either swap my halogens for the inspection then swap back or I find a mechanic that doesn't care.
