Leaking injector after new o-rings

I could use some advice please. 2.7L with 230,000 miles.
I reinstalled the head after an exhaust valve replacement which I did all the work myself. I purchased a DNJ gasket set for the job.
All went back together nicely and the engine fired right up with no miss.

After the test drive, I popped the hood to check for leaks and saw that the number one injector was dripping gas. Looked to be coming from the top o-ring. I had replaced all four of them, but not the bottom rubber seals since they were not included in the gasket set.

I double checked the two bolts holding down the fuel rail and they were both properly torqued. So I loosened the rail enough so I could remove the injector and put on the old o-ring I took off. It was still very soft and looked as good as new so I wanted to see if maybe it would stop the leak. It didn't.

Before I pull the rail for the third time I'd like to hear some ideas from the experts as where to look for issues.

Never worked on the 4 banger, but when I did the heads on my 3.4 I did all the O-rings. On one of the injectors, when the fuel rail was being seated somehow one of the top o rings came off and got snagged so it was only half way on the groove and didn't seal at it. Pulled the fuel rail again, saw the o ring wasn't seated, put it back, put the fuel rail back down and it was set to go.

EDIT: Missed the part where you said you already checked it. I guess if it was me I would check it again (based off my one off experience), maybe it's consistently not seating and you have something jammed in the fuel rail or something weird like that.

Do you actually feel the injector seat into the fuel rail? Assuming this part is like my 3.4, you should feel a light click when it's seated all the way. Even if properly torqued down, it may not have seated properly; it might be just bending the injector/rail.

Did you lube the o-rings with gas proper to seating the injectors? This should help seat them properly.

Very easy to get an o-ring crooked when the fuel rail slides on.

At this point, with it leaking still with the old o=ring on, I'd be thinking about taking the rail off and inspecting the socket on #1. Might be an old piece of rubber stuck in there?

Thanks for all the tips. I inspected the fuel rail and did see a tiny bit off rubber stuck to the side. I swabbed it clean. I also installed four new Felpro o-rings which I lubed with a tiny bit of di-electric grease. Reinstalled everything and no more leaks.
Not sure what fixed the leak since I did three repairs at the same time, but am guessing it was the stuck rubber inside the rail.
