Leaky ICON rear shocks, what rear shocks to get next??

So I am on my 2nd set of Icon VS 2.0 shocks. The first set started leaking. Inside of my rear tire was wet and there were oil spots on my garage floor right below the rear shocks.

I bought another new set and will sell the leaky ones so someone can rebuild them and reuse.

My front ICON coilover have been solid for 3-4 years, the rears not so much.

I believe its a matter of time for the new Icon rear shocks to leak again. What should I choose next? Bilstein? I do not want any remote reservoir shocks and looking to spend less than <$400 for a set of rear shocks.

Any recommendation?

I have the Icon 2.0 as well. Got them on a killer deal and my 5100s sucked with 220lb springs. I plan on getting Radflo 2.5 to match my Radflo fronts when these fail/ or next summer.

Anything but 5100s. I've got Icon Extended travel 2.0 RRs in the rear and I beat the hell out of them. Just about a year and 20k miles and they've been great.

He's probably trying to keep things simple, additional points of failure for leaking etc. Typically the advantage of a res-shock is only good if you're actually heating up the shock enough to need more fluid capacity or separate compression/rebound adjustment on the external can.

Cost. I don't want to spend $1,000 on rear shocks. Regular non reservoirs ones worked fine, just leaked...

I paid less than 500 for my rear 2.0 Icon RR shocks on a black Friday deal.

They're hardly $500, and nowhere near $1000 unless you're buying adjustable 2.5 inch shock bodies.

If going with Fox make sure you call Wheelers first to see if they have them in stock. Some of those parts numbers are difficult to find and long moving lead times from Fox. They had the ones I wanted in stock (and on sale) and shipped out same day!
