So this has been on my seat since I got the car and was wondering if anyone had any solutions to making this better.
Leather seat interior fix?

Yikes! I'm sure many will say to get those DIY leather repair kits. Yeah, don't do that. You will never get the color to match and the patch job will look like hell (at least in my experience it did). Look for an upholstery shop, they should be able to help you. You might have to take the leather off of the seat for them to repair it.

I have the same rip in the same place. Find a place in your area with good reviews to get it fixed. I need to bring mine in one of these days.

Look on eBay or local junk yard and find a used seat with the same color.

Depends if you have heated leather seats or not. I've heard replacing a seat around the wiring is a major PITA.
I bought my truck used through a dealer and had a similar rip. They agreed to have it fixed during the sale. They paid for me to take it to an upholstery guy and he put a pretty complicated patch on it that had metal mesh with synthetic leather material over top of it. It was put on with a bonding material and heat gun. Once it was patched he re-dyed the entire seat bottom to have it match consistently. You can't even tell it was ever there. It has held up fine for the past year that I've had it. I asked him how much it would normally cost and he said it'd be about $100. He does about 40 dealers in the area where I live. I would recommend you stop by any dealer that's close and ask someone in detailing who they use for upholstery repairs as most don't do it in house.

I agree my didn't have heated seats so it was just a simple swap. I assume the wiring are plug and play.

speaking from 3rd gen experience here: my drivers seat was all chewed up from previous owners sliding in and out for years, i was able to remove BOTH seat bottoms and swap them left for right. now, the chewed up part is next to the console and out of sight. little bit of wiring to deal with but very simple, just time consuming. cost nothing and now the bolsters on the entry sides of the seats look like new.
