Leather Seat Replacement - 2006 Limited 4th Gen

I've had my 4Runner for 10+ years, it is a 2006 Limited V8 with leather seats. Both the driver and passenger seats could use replacing. I took it somewhere locally and they quoted me $500 to replace both seat covers. I don't believe they have OEM replacements.

My questions are:
1) Is it possible to still get OEM replacements?
2) If I can't get OEM, where can I get the best aftermarket replacement?
3) If I decided not to have my local shop install them, does anyone have a good DIY thread they've found?
4) Is there anything else I would need to know about this process from others who have done this before?

Check out Clazzio. They are covers not replacements though. But for the price you are being quoted, you could redo the whole 4runner in clazzio. I'm very impressed with the quality of them. They look factory and no one can tell the difference.

I used leatherseats.com to replace all my factory leather. Going on 3 years since I did them and the leather is holding up excellently.

Driver seat before with worn out OEM leather and seat cushion.

New OEM seat cushion for driver side. Part number is in the pic.

Completed driver seat. The wrinkles all came out after a few weeks and the AZ heat. They are complete replacement seat covers. I did all the work to replace them myself in my garage. leatherseats.com sells everything you need to do the job.

Front and rear done. I was still working on the headrests when I took these pics.

If it's just one seat go on ebay look up us auto seat cover and order theirs. Usually you can make an offer. Ive used them on 2 4runners now and they came out great. Even the dealer could not tell the difference.

Then go on Amazon and get a hog ring tool and hog ring kit ( I think I paid 10.00 for mine ). It's actually pretty easy to do. The hardest part is when you have to slice the leather for the headrest guides.

Also, I noticed there are two part numbers for the seat cushions.

Are these correct?

This one is much cheaper though. The more expensive one says leather, the cheaper one says "Microfiber Leather" so fake I assume.

His link showed $188 for me as well, here's a website that seems to be either the company that makes Microfiber Leather or a supplier of the material, has info on what it is, etc.

That link shows 188.00 for me too. yes there are two different part numbers for the foam. I paid 165..00 for mine. You can make an offer on those. I would say anything under 75.00 is vinyl, microfiber or simulated leather.

I would be weary of your quote of 500.00 for both. That includes leather R&I, R&I of the seats and the leather? I have a guy near me who I know personally and he quoted 400.00 for 1 seat. I got quotes as high as 900.00 for 1 seat.

On my old 08 with fawn interior there was a pretty big rip in the rear seat when i bought it. He had to order the leather and make the cover as the back seat covers are n/a aftermarket by themselves and he charged 350.00.

Leatherseats.com color match for 2006 4 runner stone gray front seats

Hello, I am looking to replace my fronts seats leather from leatherseats.com.
I have stone gray in my 2006 and upon calling leatherseats.com they advise that their customers have chose either the Smoke or Stone colors in the past. I am down in Florida for the winter and the 4Runner is up north so having samples sent are no good. While I know computer pictures are not accurate, the colors look darker. The colors of Frost, Grigio, and Dove Grey look closer. Has anyone ordered from leather seats.com for the stone gray interior for just the fronts and got a good match and if so, what color? I am new to the forum and they wont let me post a new thread until i have a few replies, so I am jumping on this.

I in Ontario, Canada and I am trying to take advantage of free shipping in the US vs paying to ship to Canada, plus mostly like customs handling fees and possibly tariffs in the new environment.

Anyone with a color clarification is appreciated.

I bought this bottom seat cover 4 years ago from Amazon, it says its not available anymore but you can prob find the company. I was $100 and is full leather. Color is really very close to OEM, probably exact when the leather was new you really can't tell.

Fitting is OK figure on about 2 hours I spent longer as I put in seat heaters while I was there. Save your fingers and your sanity and use zip ties instead of hog rings, way easier and no difference. Just make sure to cut them flush .

I believe 500 is less than the cost of the factory replacements. When I looked they were 350 or so each, plus installation. Ebay has endless options, just have to work through them. I'd be careful about color match if you don't go with the factory ones.
