LED Headlamp Bulbs

I have not tried those bulbs.... the thought of LED low beams and fogs does intrigue me though and I've looked into it... I'll probably end up going with a pair from VLEDS... something similar to these 9006 HB4 5K CXA 2000LM | 1 PAIR - White LED - 9006 HB4 - 9000 Series - Shop Bulb #'s

something about the specs on the link you provided doesn't seem right... 80W is a lot for 1200LM led bulbs.... considering the link above are 2000LM per bulb and only 26W consumption...

amps/ current draw is what really matters and this is my main reason for wanting to upgrade to led's.... less draw on the battery. (more space for my RI's)

IF I need real light, that's what my Rigid's are for.

Ok, someone chime in here and provide some real answers. One link has a set at $40. The other at 3 times the price. Granted, one is on eBay, the other is a manufactures website. But, seems like the VLEDS look like a more thoroughly constructed product.

Also, why don't we hear about this option. It seems like I hear more people do HIDs, when these seems potentially lower in price, maybe more power efficient, could be easier to install and they seem to have a similar hue (from what I can tell in the pictures).

I have some HIRs now, as white as I can go with some PIAAs. But, I'm always looking to get the cleanest, whitest (near blue) light I can get that's efficient and cost effective and reliable.

So, why don't we hear about LED headlight bulbs more often?

the cons are some people say LED's don't produce enough heat to melt ice or snow off the lens in the winter months (I've never experienced this before in PA) and light projection/ beam pattern... if you put a LED bulb in the incorrect housing it's gonna suck (like any other conventional bulb in a halogen/projector housing).... if you have a typical/ old school reflector housing (low beam o5 and before) then it would be a viable option to consider.

up to recently led headlight bulbs while being socalled whiter, put out less light than stock, that why you hear more about HIDs around 3000+ L, since op has an 06 with H11(sr5, limited the same) its the 05 & before that use a different bulb (9006) for lows where the 2000L might work , but a 1200 lumen output is less than oem stock, OP, why would you want less, if what you want is more light & not just a whiter color , do the H9 swap 2100L, even with 4-4500k H9 bulbs its still about 1900-2000L. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/59202-08-low-beams-h11-h9.html better yet, why not get hids, they work ok for the 06 projectors, just do the squirrel finder mod & aim em a bit lower
