LED Light bar in this location?

Alright so im planning on getting an LED light bar and was photoshopping to see where I like it...... I was wondering if anyone has put and LED light bar In the location where I am thinking!
Any help would be appreciated.

I'd like to piggy-back on this thread and ask, are there any cooling issues or concerns with lights mounted above and/or below the bumper?

I like the idea, but I do wonder about cooling issues.
 
It looks cool and I think it would be very good for light distribution but for me...I smash into a lot of stuff.

When I search 3rd gen specific stuff in Google I enter "toyota-4Runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/" followed by my search words.

So yours was: toyota-4Runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/led-light-bar-in-bumper
And it just so happens it was the first search result.

No problem, the light output is crazy bright, I'd post pics but honestly it won't do justice, you'd have to see it in person to really see how great they are,
 
1. Lights lower on the bumper are more likely to get hit by rocks / sand weathered.
2. More likely to get covered by dirt or mud when off road.
3. I'm with Rick, I hit things.
4. Lights up high throw farther and are better for cresting hills.
5. I've been in grass that has cover my head lights before.

But I do have to say it does look cool.

Yep I totally agree.
But I plan on making a thick 2-3mm Clear Mask/Bra for the lens
also I have no room on top of my bumper because of my hella's
and a roof top mount is out of the question.
So this is the only logical place.......

Don't cut any wider than you have to on the valance, it will make theft more challenging to have the mounting bolts covered. Remember you can always shave a bit more off if necessary.

No need to go with Rigid, my Chinese bar makes all the light I can handle. I'm very pleased with my results

I have noticed no change in engine cooling since the mod.
 
I think I'm gonna have to try this. My valance is already cut from when I bought it and if it doesn't work out then I can mount it up in my rack.

The only pictures I took are posted on page 2 of my build thread, linked earlier on this thread. I cut two 3" pieces of 1.25" angle iron. Then drilled a hole in the center of each for the mounting bolt. Finally, I welded them on top of the frame rail in position. My light bar just happened to be exactly the width necessary to mount above the frame rail. Alternately, I could probably have used self tapers right into the frame, or the radiator support to mount it. I did it my way to get the height exactly right, and to push their light bar forward, closer to flush with the bumper rather than recessed. Check out the post in my build thread about it, I can clarify things more maybe, but maybe the pictures explain it well enough. Let me know if you need more info.

Is there an update on cooling issue? I dont have top rack to mount light there but looking like you to put a 20" in lower grille for now. Im in Vegas where 100* + will soon be the norm.
 
No change in cooling performance that I could detect. I ran that setup in Texas for a few years. Had to pull it off last winter to make room for the new bumper and winch though
 
What is the purpose of the cradle? Will the light bar not spin around enough with the supplied supports or for ease of centering?
