LED Low Beam Headlight Issue

Hi all, I scored some Xenon Depot LED headlights for my low beams on the recent sales and just finished the install.

Low Beam: H11 Xtreme LED Pro Headlight Kit [Vehicle Options:None]
High Beam: Stock Halogen
Fog: Xenon Depot H16 Xtreme LED Pro Fog Light Bulb - Yellow​

I am having an issue with the upgraded low beams -- the driver's side light has good focus and light throw while the passenger side light scatters.

I have tried swapping fuses, bulbs, ballasts...and I couldn't find anything by searching...Thanks in advance!

It almost looks like the bulb isn't seated in the housing and you're just getting wash from the background. If you didn't have the light you have I'd think you didn't install anything on that side.

i suggest that you swap driver with the passenger side and see if its still happens then it could be the light bulb good luck and make sure that the light is put in correctly

Hi generald,

I've replaced my low-beams a while back... LED's, HID's... and the positioning of the low-beams are "IMPOSSIBLE!" The trouble is the positioning of the slots that lock the bulbs in the bezel!

Try removing the H-11's and re-seating them properly; they have a tendency to hang-up at an un-sealed/un-seated angle, hence your trouble! We've all found that out after replacing those low-beams! 'Best to you',

The bulbs are clockable, watch their install video, that’s what the included Allen wrench is for. Once you loosen it, you can aim the bulb for proper cutoff line.

Thanks all! I learned my lesson today.

So I went out and spent another half hour playing with them. Did more swaps, same results. I followed this guide (https://trail4runner.com/2017/12/22/xenon-depot-4runner-led-headlights-install/) and went with the 45 degree rotation on both sides...and here is where the issue was!

After some tinkering, 45 degrees on the left translates to 310-315 degrees on the right (range is due to the right light alignment being a touch high I think).

Finally get them set and out for a test drive with pretty similar patterns. I may try the 3 oclock - 9 oclock settings in a few weeks after checking for any wire melting, etc.

Interesting that you find the diode in that position is working best. I have the ZD high beam kit as well (LED) and ensured that they went in with the diode pointing side to side (so clocked at 3-9 like you said, vertical if that makes sense). Which is the exact way my SL1 LED's from Diode Dynamics sit in my low beam housing. Beam patterns are perfect and I've stood across a parking lot to look at them at night to make sure (the wall alignment doesn't always provide the best perspective on glare I think).

This was a huge challenge with my Xenon Depot lights also, and I still have a really bright flare spot on the ground directly in front of the truck on the driver's side that I still have not yet figured out.
