Length of rear wheel studs Vs front(spacers install)

I know it's been beaten to death in here but I'm not sure if my Toyota shipped wrong wheel studs or maybe info is wrong.
From what I understand, rear studs are longer than the fronts and are interchangeable. I ordered 12 rear studs for 4th gen runner and tried to install them today and l was really upset when I found that new rear studs are identical length as my fronts. So the question is, did Toyota mess up my order and shipped wrong studs or are they all the same length front and rear on our truck and I have to get aftermarket or other. If so can someone shoot me a link or a part # from Toyota that will be longer to work on my application ?

For my '03 I found these OEM #s:
90942-02049 fronts
90942-02079 rears

The aftermarket equivalents from Dorman shows the rears being 44.10mm long versus 40mm for the fronts. So they may have sent you the wrong studs.

I switched my fronts with new stock studs from a 2003 matrix, 55mm long. Cheap and work great.

I spoke to Toyota parts and they telling me that matrix has same 44mm studs as 4 runner. Also I already have 44mm on the front and it's too short. I just used micrometer to check, so Toyota send me proper studs. Do you have part number for matrix? That would help me a lot.

I found part number for AWD matrix 90942-02078. It shows 55mm length and knurl diameter of 14.20mm or 0.559 inch. Is that it ?

Just checked my receipt from a little over a year ago, I got mine from Rockauto, Dorman 610463 from a 2004 Matrix $1.42 each. Just switch those out and you'll be good to go.

Thank you very much, I ordered Toyota studs for Matrix. Can't wait to install I know Dorman has good products it's just that I wanted to have pease of mind knowing that studs are coming from Toyota.

I reinstalled 25mm ksp spacers with matrix wheel studs. The only thing I noticed right away that there is a nasty vibration at the front wheels. around 90km/h and higher. maybe roadforce balancing will help. I just balanced my wheels last week and it was fine until spacers went on the hubs.

Need to ensure that the spacers are completely mated with the hub. Also you might re-torque the lugs and make sure they are tight. For me, the new lug bolts were very tight to install, and took a good amount of hits with the impact to make sure they were all the way in.

I used a huge pry bar to put new studs in. I have to use a roadforce balancer to get rid of vibration. Spacer is flush on the brake rotor and rim for sure. I know I had a tire hopping issue before spacers but it definitely amplified it. Maybe I will lower tire pressure too ?

Yeah, I get vibration out of mine if they are around 28 lbs or less. I try and keep them around 34-35ish. Tire hop? Need new shocks?

Ok, thank you, I will adjust pressures back to 34-35. I did roadforce balance today, got the print out. Steering will still shaking. It feels that wheels are unbalanced but I was watching tech do it in front of me and I wouldn't do a better job myself. Maybe spacers are not centered, could that be the cause too? I cant afford to replace xreas right now. They are not leaking and truck feels solid during turns.

I will be installing brakes on the front from 2013 4runner, hoping that maybe I have a rotor out of round or something. Is it possible that spacer itself is out of balance or not centered on the wheel hub ?

Installed new no name spacers from eBay instead of KSP. No vibration now. New spacers are hub centric/ rim centric. KSP are hub centric only not rim centric or lug centric to the rim. Center bore is also too big. It seems like this company is making universal spacer for 6x139,7mm pattern which is common but not perfect fit for our trucks. Moral of the story, KSP spacers are poor choice. Stay away or enjoy vibration.
