Personally I cannot stand it when people do this. I mean, I don't want to come off as a **** here but you don't drive a Lexus, you drive a Toyota. That's almost as bad as putting an escalade front end on a tahoe. Good luck if you decide to go through with it, I just don't see the point other than to try and make it something that it isn't.

See if it fits, the 96-98 use one size on the grill and the 99-02 uses another so the IS might fit yours.

It might look nice if you debadge the rest and put a Lexus on the rear. It's your car and you can try make people look twice and wonder what you are driving if you want to!

Hmm... my 4Runner is base, but I've added everything and basically made it into my own little SR5.

Would you say it would be stupid to throw on the SR5 rear emblem?

Just curious... I was thinking about doing that...

Once you do your mirrors then the SR5 badge is ok for your vehicle, you have then essentially done what the factory would have done anyway. That kind of thing is not uncommon, but changing the brand under the illusion it might like cool is just bizarre.

IS300 emblem is shaped to fit the stock IS300 grill, the 4runner grill is not the same so i doubt it would pop right on. i suppose i could try the emblem off of my IS is laying in my tool box at work.

what would i do? ... glue a magnet to the back of it, stick it to the fridge and you will have a great place to keep track of those speeding tickets!

Although personally I wouldn't worry about something like an SR5 emblem, I see nothing wrong with that after you have upgraded your truck to basically be an SR5. I prefer no emblems at all, in fact you should go ahead and make it a Limited... then you can buy my emblems!

This to me is no different than the hot rod guys who build SS or Yenko clones because they can't afford/find the real thing. Nothing wrong with it, as long as you don't try and pass it off as what its not.

Right on... everyone has their personal preference and I respect that.

And I do agree, the mirrors should be changed, but I see that I should be changing those soon anyway, so if I pop on the emblem, it won't be long til the mirrors match...

Ahh... I can't wait... I actually might be getting a tow hitch soon, and I just mounted the new air deflector and the license plate surround today. I just wish my rear bumper wasn't caved in from the previous owner's daughter... so when that, LED tails/3rd tail, and the new exhaust is done, the back will be complete until I find something else to complain about :D

Hopefully the back will fill in nicely.. afterwards, sport hood should top off the front.. much nicer than my dented/caved in (someone sat on it) normal hood... lol

In a way, i agree. But when you look at the Acura's, you pop up the hood and the engine says "Honda".

Right because Acura is made by Honda. But they don't just take an accord and put a Acura emblem on it, they still make a car that is more luxurious and with more ammenities and you pay for those and the Acura emblem.

The only time I don't mind switching emblems is when people with acura's put a Honda emblem on and that is only because Acura does not exist in Japan so if you are going for the JDM look it makes sense. But then again, if you don't have right-hand drive and what not it kinda defeats the purpose.

gottcha, i thought so...

Does that mean its ok for a Lexus to put a Toyota emblem on?

Im just confused why its such a big deal what emblem is on the vehicle.

If you can get the lexus emblem on there, go for it!

I do prefer the "no emblem" look though

If its not a big deal to you, then thats not a problem. It's not everyones thing. I personally can't stand it when people do that, and don't see the point. But I even told the OP that its his truck and good luck on fitment if that's what he wants to do.
