LFD Cross Bars / Roof Box Combo Suggestions

I have the LFD 3/4 rack and it's worked very well with the Yakima Skybox 16. I've done several long distance trips over the last few years and haven't had any issues.

[emoji848] Try opening up this thumb screw a bit more? When I move the box from the car with flatter aero style crossbars I really have to open these up big time for the LFD bars. You should be able to fine tune it so the clamp snaps back down good and tight.

Also, in another thread on this topic my cheat to fix the wind noise howl with the box on was to take some foam pipe insulation and fill the gap in the underside of the front bar. Whisper quite after that! Otherwise, they resonate like tuning forks. [emoji106]

Thanks for the suggestions [MENTION=409616]YT-1300[/MENTION] and [MENTION=411605]tylertenny[/MENTION]. I'll give it another try before our next spring ski day. Hopefully I just wasn't opening up that front adjuster enough :doh:

I got all the way finished and then also ran into the issue where I can't seem to get the feet adjusters big enough to fit around the cross beams - the yakima feet latch wont let me push it down flush to the rest of the box... I thought I maxed them out and still no luck... what's the trick?

I think you just need to keep loosening the thumb screw I circled above until you're able to snap the clamp back down. Everything else in your pics looks good.

Oh hot dang! Thank you - turns out I was being silly and didnt turn the thumb screw enough
