Lift kit and running boards for 5th gen

I have been doing loads of research trying to find a solid lift kit to level off my ne 4runner. I also have been looking for running boards for it as well and cant seem to find anything that doesnt have bad reviews saying it doesn't fit the way it's supposed to or that its pushing up on the car and breaking things. I think I found a daystar 2.5" lift on amazon that will work but I cant find running boards that will fit. Anyone who has a limited that has some insight would be greatly appreciated!

So what are you trying to do? Get a lift kit and then lower your running boards?

I want to get the leveling kit (this one says it lifts the front 2.5 and the back like 1.5) and then I want to get running boards or the tube steps for the side. With it be in my a limited I have been seeing people having issues with something under the rocker panel that pushes the running boards up too high or something and it ends up damaging stuff. I just dont want to jump into something and then it doesnt work. Was hoping someone has had experience with it!

I poked around in there and it's a lot of people with the sr5 pr the trail edition. It's hard to find anything on the limited unless I'm just completely missing it. But I think I might have found some Nfab tube steps that fit according to amazon.

FYI that's a lift kit, not leveling. Leveling would just be lifting the front about 1" to level the stock stance. If you're getting spacers for front and rear that's a lift.

All you need is a set of running boards or tub steps that are designed specifically for the Limited model. I think what you might be referencing is when people with a Limited that buy rock sliders you will either need to trim or remove the rocker panel.

Any early model SR5 running boards will fit or any year limited. People give them away/sell cheap all the time in the classifieds section. We take them off because they kill ground clearance (I gave mine to a board member who ended up giving them to another board member). Running boards and suspension lift have nothing to do with each other. Any running boards that will fit your truck will fit any suspension lift, and any suspension lift will fit your running boards.

Oh yeah i get that! I was just asking about them independently but in the same post. I just saw a lot of stuff about how the limited suspension can be a pain in the ass for the lifts and everything. I appreciate the response too! Are there particular tube steps that you had on your 4runnerm

Mine came with just whatever the cheap extruded aluminum running boards dealers were putting on in 2011. I took them off, then removed my rocker trim and put on Rocky Road sliders. Still looking for a junkyard donor for the slim rocker trim to install with them. They work OK as a step for getting into the truck I guess but for me their primary function is bashing rocks. There are plenty of better alternatives if a step is to be their primary function.

I fixed AeroTread 5" Running Boards to my T4R TRD Offroad. It did not say that is fits 4Runner but I just gave it a try. It was $229.40 at walmart. (Manufacturer Part Number 2061027)

This is a quick video how it looks and timelapse on fixing it. I did not include a detail video as its very simple. Just remove 6 bolts on each side and and fix the running board with the bolts come with it. Stock bolts were 12mm and the bolts come with the running board was 13mm, but fits perfectly.

I have the Daystar 2.5/1.5 kit and have stock running boards.
