Lift kit question!

3" lift ToyTec/Bilstein kit for 96-02 4Runner

Sup guys I am thinking of ordering this tonight. Just got a quick question. Will this lift kit level out the 4runner? Also will 255/85r16 work with this lift? I wasn't able to find too many people with this exact lift. Also, what does it mean when it says the option of assembling the front coilovers with new top mounts and hardware? Thanks ahead of time.

Don't buy it if you dont know what assembling the front coilovers means. Do all of the maintenance items on your truck first. I know, thats no fun.:biggrin1:

I bought the sonoran steel 1.2 lift and had them assemble the front coilovers,soooo much easier!

Check out this page for what maintenance NEEDS to be done prior to lift install. You can assemble your own coilovers in about 15 mins using a floor jack and your LCA, don't waste your money.

That kit is non-adjustable and provides and average of 3" of lift front and rear, but that may vary if you have any added weight. It also comes un-assembled so that you can re-use your factory upper mount to save some money.

We sell all of the above mentioned kits, and they are all very functional and reliable, you can't go wrong with any of them!

However, the max recommended tire size is 285/75R16, which is equivalent to a 33", whereas the 255/85R16 is a little taller at 33.5", but with a narrower width.

I ordered the same kit and installed it last weekend. That said, I spent about two years planning an exact build and was upgrading and performing all other needed items prior to doing it. So for example, I had two ripped axle boots and wanted to install the new reman axles from CVJ at the same time as I did the lift kit because the higher angle will cause problems on older boots that ran on the lower angle and I did not want to replace them twice...I also did the Tundra 13WL caliper/rotor upgrade because it was all apart anyway.

I spent a lot of time saving and planning for my build so buying the kit as a whole was worthwhile for me, especially as install turnaround time was an issue. I was also installing Shrockworks bumpers as well and wanted to make sure I really spent as much time as possible grinding any rust off, priming, painting, and applying body wax to prep for Winter...

My runners suspension was level prior to the lift and my other suspension components were in good operating condition, but even then there are some items I missed.

The rear link boots were shot so I bought 2nd gen links that are an inch longer and fit nice! Also, fab a bracket (I spent too much on the lift kit to justify $22 for the one at SS) for the e-brake cable bolted to the rear diff, and my diff drop kit did not bolt up well at all, something I have to speak to Toytec about for their input....

You can't lose, Toytec is a great company. I LOVE dealing with them, and even more I love living where they do and promoting a local company that cares about their customers.

That said, you GUYS ARE BUSY, OPEN ON SATURDAYS SO I can save on shipping lol. Still not a big deal, but Toytec is the best.
