Lift time!

I've made a few posts on this forum and so far everyone has been very helpful. My next truck upgrade is a suspension lift. I've read pretty extensively on the subject, but the information is scattered and hard to confirm, so I wanted to get some other opinions.

I don't want too much lift, but I do want extra clearance on the underside of the car. Ideally I'd like 2 inches of lift.

My first question is how much higher does the back sit than the front, if at all? Because I was thinking an OME 881/906 setup but I also don't want the front to sit higher than the rear. Also, would that 2.5" require a diff drop?

My other thought was the TRD Tundra spring which is a similar amount of lift. Has anyone had any experience with the lift and have anything to say about it?

And finally, I know the diff drop just changes the way the diff sits to reduce the CV angles, but will that end up reducing my diff clearance?

I do not know on the 906 spring, but I have an 881/890 set-up and the rear sits a little higher than the front. Ive never measured for exacts... It is noticeable, but not annoying. It sits like it should have come from the factory.

Yes, but not enough to worry about. And with only a 2-2.5" lift, the diff drop is not all that necessary.

Idk the heights of the springs all that well off the top of my head. But in regards to the diff drop it would lower the actual diff. But I believe its above a cross member so I do t think it would effect your ground clearance.

A diff drop won't lower your clearance by any substantial amount. I wouldn't worry about that. I had the TRD Tundra lift and loved it. You can piece it together on a budget and works perfectly for a dd and weekend wheeler. I had my TRD set up at ~2.5" and didn't use a diff drop. I had no issues with my CV's.

If you go with the Tundra lift definitely get the 890's or 906's and some OME trim packers in the rear. Otherwise you will end up with some reverse rake. The 890's will be the best choice and I would check out SantaCruzRunner's build thread as he has the TRD/5100's up front (3rd notch) and 890's out back.

I think I've decided I want to run the 881/890 set up. Decent lift and I like the rear sitting a bit higher to give it room to sag if I pack up the back end or do eventually decide to get a rear bumper.
Now I need to find the right shocks to go along with them. :P
Anyone have any suggestions? I'll look around a bit on my own too.
