Light Bars on Side/Rear of GOBI Rack

Does anyone have any good pictures of lights installed on the side and the rear of the Gobi Stealth rack? This will be my next project and I am trying to get a little inspiration on how I want to set this up. The rear lights are for loading a boat trailer at night and the side lights will be used primarily when camping. Thanks

Did you mount your lights on the upper bar for any specific reason? I would like to mount my lights on the platform below the location of yours. I do worry that the lights will not project from that location though.
I have been trying to find a method to mount the lights in a way that allows me to tuck them back into the rack when I am not using them, and easily pop them up when I am camping. I don't want to install them so that they are constantly catching wind during my daily drive.

I used the mounting plates that the GOBI has to mount them. They are on the same plane as the rack floor.

Ideally, I agree that it would be best to mount them to the top and have them be able to light the area in the back of the 4Runner...but that is not going to happen. The GOBI sits too far from the edge of rear end.

You can flip these lights down, but the hardware that came with them needs a wrench, you can easily replace with wing nuts and solve that issue.

I couldn't tell you...I installed these at the same time that I installed the Front LED Bar.

Is there noise, yes. Is it annoyingly loud, not really.

I use Baja Designs S2 Pros and mounted them on the front Gobi support bracket using an existing mounting bolt. What you see in the picture here is the passenger side mounted. I later drilled a new hole on the bracket a bit lower to compensate for the awning being in the way (only on the passenger side). The lights worked fantastic over the weekend at Death Valley when I was trying to find a camping spot at 1am

You can see one of my rear S2s mounted here using Gobi’s original mounting points. These lights are rear dust/fog lights only. As someone mentioned the mounting points are too recessed to throw any usable light directly behind the vehicle.

Way more than enough. I actually have diagnosed night vision blindness and they work for me. Those tiny little S2 pros will beat out light bars that are triple their size.

In general Baja Designs LED lights are superior to anything out there including Rigid Industries. Yes, they are expensive but they put a lot of research in optics/reflection tech which makes them super efficient in throwing out light.

Would be nice if someone made a ratcheting / locking mount that easily allowed you to flip them up or down without tightening or loosening bolts. I have mine mounted on the platform but they don't work great for camp lights as they are too low/far back. Plus the Gobi ladder is in the way. Maybe if you had some real bright spots for backup lights or just general rear lighting for offroading. Still trying to figure out the best solution.

Mounted in the low method, not high. this puts them a tiny bit higher than the platforms on the rack but not way up on the top bar.

I like them in that spot, and have an awning aswell. I have mine mounted on the horizontal bracket, but the awning covers most of it when it's on. I might try your approach but maybe from the backside of that braclet(I fear a tree limb grabbing my light without my permission)

Does anyone have these lights on a motion detector and have setup info to share? I'll be sleeping in the back of the 4Runner for weeks this fall in grizzly bear territory--possibly with toiletries & food in the vehicle? (still sorting that out)--and would like to put outside lights on a motion detector that I could activate at night...
