light not coming on when you open the door? simple fix.

Decided to finally poke around and find out why my interior light wasn't coming on. This is the way I fixed mine.

First locate the switch.
Pull up on the rubber and you should see a bolt
Remove bolt (10mm)
Inspect whether it is too far gone or can be salvaged
Mine was salvageable. I reinserted the connector then used electric tape to secure it to the switch[/SIZE].[/SIZE][/SIZE]

Also, would it be a similar fix for the driver's door?

All of my switches seem to work perfectly except for the driver's door that works Intermittently.

If there's one thing that annoys the heck out of me on any vehicle is a light that is either burnt or doesn't work for whatever reason.


On another note, I'm annoyed that the interior lights don't automatically come on when I turn the engine off. I'm so used to this feature in my Matrix that I always expect the same to happen when I shut off my T4R, but get slightly sad when I'm just left sitting there in the dark, like some creeper, lol.

I would also love for all 3 dome lights to turn on no matter which door gets opened. This is another feature my Matrix has that I would love to see in my T4R.

Yeah, I'd like to know what you did exactly. I fixed my lights, for about 5 minutes. Not working now.

just reinsert the connector into the switch. The problem with mine was that since the plastic cracked the connector was pushed out of the switch. The purpose of the tape is to prevent the connector from being pushed back out. So you are securing the connection to the switch. You can also go to a dealer and buy a new switch I'm sure.

Ya hate to say that wont solve anything,it eventually will fail.i did something similar that lasted a little than crashed. i ended up pulling some from a lexus sc300 out of a junk yard and they have been working fine for years.
