Limited t4r options reliability

Looked through whatever threads I could find for an answer but never found a thread directly addressing my question. I currently have an sr5 and was looking to get a v8 sport edition t4r (I like the aesthetics as well as the black seats) Throughout my searching, I've found that v8 limited t4r's are much easier to come by. My question is, are the options that come on a limited (navigation radio, heated seats, auto climate control) problematic? I understand anything can break at any time, but I usually try and buy model vehicles that are on the lower side of available options as they seem to break less and are cheaper to fix and maintain. My opinion may be a little biased as I work on vw's. Any opinions and experience is appreciated

I have had ZERO issues with my options from my time of purchase (123K miles) and current (170K miles and 15+ stage rallies). The only option that doesnt work currently is the inverter, it has never worked since I purchased and dont intend on using it. The "options" were a must for my family and wife. The v8 was my must. the simple option at the time was the limited package.

Also I dont know if there is any significance of the gold emblems in terms of package, but i have seen the same color car with silver emblems...

None of my options have broken yet, but it is more things that could break. I'd prefer a base model, but I got a good deal on this one.

I think the rear air suspension tends to have problems, but mine doesn't have that.

No issues with the items you listed above. I love the extras.
However, I did blow an engine...my bad...should have changed the water pump at 160K miles. The secondary air pump went bad, no big deal just get a bypass. The O2 sensor gone bad, change them and its ok.

Had for 6 years starting at 80K, now 170K.

I just bought an 05 with 210k miles on it. Only the ride height adjust (RAS) system was bad. But the previous owner had already converted it to coils so its not something I will miss.

NAV, seat heaters, back up camera, climate, etc..... all work great.

I bought my 03 Limited V8 back in 2008 - I was the second owner and it had about 117,000 km on it.

Here are the unexpected issues that I had with "major options" and the items that have been replaced:

Disabled the Height Control (Rear Air Suspension) system at 131,000 km - one of the sensors had failed; too costly to repair. Mechanic fabricated a manual fill system.

X-REAS suspension system failure (leak in the line behind the centre control absorber on the driver's side) - too expensive to repair X-REAS; installed OEM Toyota (SR5) struts/shocks at 138,000 km.

My T4R developed some significant (and costly) issues - specifically the fancy technology of height control and X-REAS failing.

The 03 got traded in just this spring with 161,000 km on it.

Third owner of an 05 Limited V8 with 162,000 miles. I bought it at about 88,000 miles.

Ride height sensor failed around the 120k mark. I swap the rear to FJ shocks and coils and did the front same to the front to remove XREAS at the same time (hadn't seen any leakage). I also had the timing belt and water pump done at 100k.

All the other limited specific items (NAV, seats, etc) seem to be fine. I do have the sunroof click problem due to the hardened grease from not using it. But I never care to open it so it doesn't affect me.

07 V8 Limited - 155K miles and not problems other than some minor acting up of the dual zone climate control...and well a minor paint failure with the painted grill, I did fix that because it was so cheap to get a replacement fully painted grill, the rest works great, the factory sound is pretty damm good too...

To me the radio, bigger wheels and color match everything, make it all worth it

207k on mine - no RAS, replaced X-REAS at 110k, Navigation failed, dual climate control circuit failed. I replaced the nav & climate control with SR5 versions so my dash doesn't look like a Limited any more. Heated seats & leather remain so my SO is happy. Yes, the leather on the drivers side is looking sad but that expected.
