Limited vs SR5 brush guard issue

Is the frame on a limited different than an SR5? I picked up a brush guard from someone who had it mounted on a '98 limited, and either I'm stupid and can't figure out where to put the mounting brackets or something is different on the front end.

Does anyone have pics of their brush guard mounted to the frame? I'd really appreciate it.

The frame is identical. There may be some mounting differences between the old bumper and the fat-lip bumper.

But it would attach to the frame and not the bumper mounts right? I've never installed one that mounted to the bumper mount?

My brush guard attaches to where the factory tow hooks go on the frame. Remove the two tow hooks on each side, raise the brush guard into place, place tow hooks on top of brush guard mounts, bolt it back up.

Yes I should mount to the frame...top and bottom.

If there is any help, I installed a fatlip bumper on a 97 limited, so it should be fine.

well, it appears that the mounting brackets are just outsmarting me. I'll have to take a harder look this afternoon.

Turns out, I got Houdinied. brush guard only fits a '99-'02. Anyone wanna trade? ha

I have 99-02 in my 97, bolts right on. However, there is some space between the brush guard and the bumper... well.... it is the new impact absorbing zone!

Yours might have different mounting brackets. do you have a picture of where it mounts to the frame? I can PM you my phone number if its easier to text me
