Tried to search the Socal Forum but couldn't find any list. I think it would be helpful to compose a list of off vendors garages that deal with off-roading. I'll update this thread as the thread progresses. If there is already such a list please someone point me towards it; thanks in advance. And please provide any shop info as shown below and I'll gladly update the OP.

Just order some new wheels and tires online and need to find a reputable place to put them on (Pro Comp 7105 17x8 + Nitto Terra Grappler 265/70/17). Anyone know such place near Azusa or some place near by?

Need to move TPMS over to new wheels as well.

Another question is will my stock lug nuts work?

I stopped by and talked to Jim at Purrfect Auto today. Going to drop off my truck sometime next week for a check up to see what sort of things I need to look out for in the near future. I told him about a few of the symptoms my truck was having and he seems to think there are a few minor things that need to be looked at. They'll know more when I drop it off.

The one problem I have with the guys at Purrfect auto so far, is that they really believe that there is NO WAY I can do a 3.4 swap legally in California. When I told them I've read of many examples of people doing that or swapping a diesel, they said that they're either lying or are paying someone to pass smog. I think someone with a swap needs to drive over there and prove them wrong.

Yeah i know a guy with a 3.4 in a first gen 4runner. Totally smog legal. As long as the motor is newer than the frame and you can do it with no error codes you should be fine. Worst case you take it to a smog referee and get it smoked there

Posting a big one. This guy is the best. I've since become good friends with him, he's the only guy allowed to touch my 4Runner. Also the shop I did my 4WD conversion/5 speed swap.

Owner, John, drives nothing but Toyota pickups. Does incredible work, one of his rides is a 1985 solid axle pickup, 22RE Turbo swap and 5-speed swap. Can do 3RZ and 5VZ work with his eyes closed. No problem can get past him.

I'll even meet you there if you want, I've been known to turn a few wrenches there. I've recommended many T4R members there before, all left completely satisfied, the last being FrankM23 (all the way from Burbank!) for his 3RZ valve adjustment.
