It does not mirror. Apple CarPlay does a better job not sure about android since I don't have an Android. But the apps must be car play compatible. Today I found out that you can even turn off your alarm from the radio when using CarPlay. I'm sure there is a lot more but I haven't discovered as yet.

Did you do the install yourself - a simple guide would be great. Where did you get the unit from -deal?

Sorry for the late reply. I actually had a shop install it but the first couldn't get the back camera to automatically come on when placed in the reverse. So i went to another and they ran a line to a fuse as a trigger and it worked. I built it on Crutchfield but bought the systems and parts on Amazon thru Sounds of Tristates who was the dealer.

I have a 64gb sandisk in mine and no problems whatsoever. I can't remember what I formatted it to though.

Same here. I have entire discographies on mine. Somewhere around 8000 songs. I also have a 16 gig USB drive with radio plays and audio books on it I use for long trips. I formatted it using directions I found on these forums, including limits on folder size etc.

I gave up on the Nav driving across the country to the Grand Canyon last year. I just use Waze now.

Any tips for my BT playing audio that lags really bad? Also when I get in I have to disconnect and reconnect my Bluetooth otherwise Pandora will skip. Pretty annoying for a new vehicle

I just called Toyota and they said with Entune there is most likely always going to be a lag with video while the system converts the video into audio only. Seems like a pretty terrible system. I never had that problem with my 2013 Tacoma but that wasn't Entune.

Hope the pics post. Installed the Pioneer Avic-8200NEX didn't lose the safety connect and now I can see what my tires pressures are. Overall satisfied just got to play with it some more.

Man that is awesome. That's a feature on the pioneer?

I'd like to eventually upgrade, but I'll deal with entune till it's really old and ornery. I like the navigation so far, but haven't used it a ton. First in dash NAV I've ever had, and I like convenience factor compared to using my phone.

Made my dealer give me free lifetime map updates based solely on the threads I read here. Hope they don't have a loophole to screw me out of my free lifetime maps! I got it in writing, dammit!!!

It’s pretty aweful to live with but I like these tips. Definitely agree with the speed dial. Makes the whole experience much better.

Thanks for the post. I've had mine about 6 months and so far the only feature that I do actually kind of like is the speed dial. Everything else I find just too tedious and delayed to really be useful, especially compared to performing the same tasks on a phone.

Is there a way to set the system to ONLY use the bluetooth for calls (and maybe streaming music)? I often use Siri to dictate texts or emails....but in the car it gets routed through the car audio and the delays and poor voice recognition make it unusable. Mine is a '15 LTD w/ JBL.

Maybe I am coming from systems that are worse than Entune, but I quite like it's simplicity. Have not felt the need for more than what is already there. Responses are quick, has the basic necessities of radio, nav etc. Carplay compatibility is a nice to have but not a must-have.

You can also play Spotify music app if you set up Waze to permit it. You can’t access Spotify directly, but can enable and use it while using Waze.

Compared to the Entune in my wife’s Sienna, my 4R is a dream.

Her’s hasn’t been able to connect/update/anything in 8 months.

I haven't driven my 4Runner in a little while, but my Entune did an update today adding Amazon Alexa. I don't really use Amazon for anything but Prime, but I figure some of the more tech savy folks that have home automation might find it useful. I figure it is probably a portal for Amazon Music, too.

Honestly the worst budget head unit Toyota could have come up with for the 4Runner...and rightfully so. Majority of controls are aux-based...only makes sense to throw in a budget head unit, too!

I hate Entune. Next mod would be a upgrade to JBL-based audio and HU.
