Howdy from Tejas!

Just checking in (early) to see if anyone is planning on attending the Lone Star Jamboree this year? It’s May 3rd-6th at Barnwell Mtn in Gilmer TX.

I didn’t make it last year, but thinking about putting it on the calendar for this year for me & the kiddo. I hear it’s pretty fun. Only ‘Yotas allowed that weekend.

Might be fun to meet up along the way if enough of us are going.

Anywho... just curious.

I will be there this year. I missed the last 2 years but will for sure be there this go around. Not sure of when I will be there or leaving but need to wait a little closer to the event to tell for sure.

Yeah, I hope to make it this year!

My first time was last year and I'm hoping to make it this year. I had some big life changes that kept me from updating my rig like I wanted

I would like to attend but probably won’t know for sure until about the week before. We will just see what plays out over the next few months.

Just got a new 2018 TRD with ORP. Would this be worth the trip from Houston for a first-timer with a stock T4R? Are there any beginner trails that aren't too technical? TIA

Yes and yes. Also I was one of the only bone stock 5th gens there last year. I made it up to a level 3 trail when I gouged one of my crappy stock tires. Didn't blow out butI didn't want to risk having a repair on the trail

I am also looking at a first trip down (also my first time to Barnwell) so in for advice on making the most of the visit. Beyond Barnwell are there any other trails that locals would suggest hitting while you are in the area?

Sliders are very helpful in this park. I would encourage you to get some if you can make that happen in the next 4 weeks.
As far as other trails in the area...None that I know of.

There is a very good chance that I will be attending this event. This will be my first time really off roading my 4runner. Hopefully I will get to meet some of you guys.

How do you think a limited would fare? I have a 2.5" lift and sliders, but stock skids.

Geeeezzzz.... sorry guys. I started the damn thread and then couldn’t even make it out. Unfortunately, we had some really difficult family issues come about that have turned life on its head. I needed to be elsewhere this weekend; but it was the right thing to do.

Regardless- my son is really bummed we didn’t go. So unless some weird a$$ crap happens next year... we’re going for sure.

Aaaaannnndddd I’ve got the thumbs up for additional lift/suspension, 285s and sliders before then as well.

Mamba will be ready. ;)
