Anyone running total chaos long travel on their 3rd gen or Camburg Long travel?

I am torn on what to get. My 4runner is mostly a desert toy for the family in Southern California. I know both total chaos and Camburg people personally and am torn on which set up to get. or if I should just get an upper control arm and new shocks.

I am leaning towards King shocks front and rear just not sure what I want to do with suspension yet.

+1 for Camburg.
Really only basing that off their UCA compared to TC's. Camburg uses a bigger uniball bolt, while retaining the same travel.
TC is definitely more popular in the Toyota game, but I would go Camburg between the two. Have you looked at SOLO motor sports LT?
 
there are few people on here who run long travel kits. Long travel UCA are different then the regular upgraded UCA. You'll need fiberglass fenders also, and some aftermarket CV axles.

Total chaos makes a kit, and SRQ fabrications sells a different brand kit for long travel also. Go on SRQ website, the banner has a 4runner with long travel on it

Be prepared to drop a LOT OF MONEY
 
I have a Camburg 3.5 kit and really enjoy it.

The only 2 benefits I see with running Camburg:
1. Boxed lowers with the bump plate if you want to run an air bump
2. Uniball lower pivots instead of bushings
 
The problem with a quality long travel kit is I can SAS and 3 link the front for close to the same money. I do not live someplace with a long travel kit would really benefit me so I would more to likely to link it first.

Problem with sas is drivability. The long travel preforms awesome and then you can drive it home on the highway instead of trailering it as most end up doing once they go sas.
 
That's what I just was told as well. Total chaos and Camburg both say axles are like $900. In just going to buy axles from napa probably or see what my friend with a Toyota discount can get them for.

Guess it depends on how it is setup. I know a handful of guys that have linked their rigs and drive them on/ off road. Hell; even Yeeps have solid axles and drive on road all the time to and from the mall. It really just requires doing it right.

That's why even new Jeep's suck ass on the highway. I know people that have sased and there rig just sits on the garage tool trail day.
 
And how many of the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks on the market have a solid front axle? I guess those suck driving too. :ybrick:


Getting back to the original question from the OP - I know a few guys running Total Chaos stuff and they all love it. I do not have any personal experience with Camburg but have heard good stuff. YMMV
 
You'll be happy with either kit for sure. If I can interest you in one of the btf kits, let me know.

pulled the trigger on getting long travel. Getting the camburg kit with upgraded upper arm mounting to hiems. King shocks front and rear and will probably use Napa axles since OEM axles are pretty damn expensive compared to Napa stuff.
 
i thought that long travel CVs are also required when changing to long travel LCAs.
