looking at a 2001 in VA. hows this frame look?

It looks like a California truck under there. It would be better to have pictures pointing towards the back. The front of the running board brackets will probably have all the paint sandblasted off if the truck ever saw dirt/gravel roads or road grit from snow (that's the only 'rust' on my truck). Check the rear lower link brackets where they weld to the frame, as others have said.

That's a nice truck! The only thing I really see is dirty brake fluid. Is the interior (leather?) in good shape too? I am happy for you.

Cloth interior good shape, had dirty floors but the detail job cleaned them up well

I live in Va Beach and have been checking this one out on CL. Wondering why the torque converter and radiator have been changed. It looks nice may be over my budget.

Wait a minute, I think I'm looking at a different one. Just checked and yes this is a different 4Runner, sorry.

I passed on it, though the frame looked good the rest of the truck looked worse, numorous dents, interior thrashed, steering leak, valve covers leaking, seller evaded questions, didn't feel right. still looking

Hey guys. I went and checked this runner out on behalf of OP. The guy selling them has a bunch of 3rd gens on his lot, all in kinda rough shape. The frame isn’t bad, but not as good as his listing makes it seem. He couldn’t tell me why the rad had been replaced, basically gave me a dodgy answer like, “Because it needed replacing, you know?”
Total crap. As OP said, many leaks, cosmetic issues, and the interior being sucky were good reasons not to buy, but I am posting here to warn you guys off of this seller at all. He’s sold plenty of 3rd gens, but after talking with him he doesn’t know the first thing about them, or cars in general. I wouldn’t buy from him, and I got shifty vibes the whole time I was there. Also, his prices reflect what a really clean runner would sell for - not his stuff.

Thanks again Graham. Yeah after taljung with seller a few times, it felt hard to trust him, very hard. If anyone considers buying a 4Runner from Mandeep on FB Virginia, definantly inspect the car first.

As already mentioned, this guy is selling other 4Runners too. Nothing wrong with that, but there is something wrong when you cover up rust by spray painting it. I asked him in the Facebook 4Runner page if the underbody was painted or coated on another 4Runner he is selling.

He responded to my reasonable question in a very passive aggressive way, mentioning that it was undercoated and that it had only very light surface rust. He went on to say that it if you want a rust-free 4Runner, buy one from the south or one that has remained in a garage. Just from that response alone, I would avoid any car he is selling.
