Looking for a 2005-2009 V8 for a test fit Y-Pipe, UCON-EMS, and maybe Super Charger!

Hey All,

Given all the interest in the Doug Thorley Headers for the 05-09 4.7L V8, and my own rusted out exhaust system, I reached out to Steve at URD to see if they'd be interested in making a Y-Pipe for our rides.

He says they're definitely interested but need a vehicle to test fit everything on. He has shops located in Orange Country California and Southern Maryland. I'm in Toronto Canada, so it's a bit of a hike for me - but I figure there's got to be a number of interested folks on here!

Please let me know if you're interested. He also mentioned that the same vehicle could be used to test their new UCON-EMS Advanced Engine Management system and a supercharger system that they're working on. Certainly someone local must be interested in this!

I seen briefly on their website once that they were working on a supercharger but needed a test vehicle, then I couldn't find the post anymore. Glad to hear they are working on it and I hope they do it!! Gertrude would LOVE a charger under her skirt!!! :dance:

Gertrude - Great name. The supercharger is probably out of my budget for a while. I really like the idea of an offroad y-pipe though. Remove the 2nd bank of cats without messing up the O2 codes! Did you ever get a y-pipe fabricated?

I guess i should have added in a little info in my first reply. I have an 07 Limited 4.7L V8 with just under 80k on it. Only mods so far is a cornfed 3/2. Let me know when they figure out what they want to do.

Thanks! I haven't been able to do my exhaust yet, been working on buying a house, closing this week. So hopefully soon! Headers, cat-less H-pipe, dual exhaust. Haven't decided on mufflers yet.

Thank you, it's been taking forever but we're finally there with the house!
I've always been very interested in offroading and tinkering with cars. Not as patient as some on here, but I try. If I had the budget I'd definitely have a whole lot more going on though!

Sent you a PM. Love your build thread. Hopefully you're as successful with the Y-Pipe as you were with the headers. Actually two versions would be great - One to hook into the factory system and one to connect directly to the DT headers! (perhaps with a Cat in between on each side). Probably asking for too much

Has there been any movement with this topic? I just purchased an 06 with a cracked, factory manifold and live in central Maryland. I'd gladly donate my car to them for a few weeks!
